Seating in his office, Gulf was flabbergasted when Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki told him what Malee's secret was. Even though he knows most than any other doctors that it is common for girls receiving treatment for the Fenux disease to have some of these side effects, he did not expect it from a young girl like Malee.

"Are you sure? Did she tell you that?" Gulf was still confused.

Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki's worried voice lets Gulf knows that it is true.

"Yes, I even check it myself. I called nurse Manow to help me. I was surprised, I did not know what to do in this situation. I mean, she is too young, right?"

"Well, yes, she is still young, but with her treatment and the medication, her body is changing rapidly. As I mentioned to you before, it is one of the side effects. I honestly, did not expect it from such a young patient." Gulf looks through Malee's file.

"My poor girl, she must have been so frightened about the whole situation. What kind of mother am I that I did not even notice it?" Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki looks at Gulf, she needed to hear an answer.

"You are a great mother, never doubt that. I should say the same thing as her doctor, but apparently, it is something recent." Gulf added.

"Yes, she told me it happens last week. She also told me that she knew about it because she is always listening to the older girls when they are in the library talking about it. That is why she was able to ask them for help." Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki began to cry.

Wiping her nose, she added, "why she did not come to me, I thought we were close. She preferred to ask another person for help than her own mother."

Gulf handed her a tissue and smiled. "I don't think she meant to hurt your feelings. She knows that you are already worried about her general health. Now, adding this to your worries was something she was trying to avoid."

Slamming her hand on the desk, "no, she should know better, I will support her no matter what. I already told her that. She should never keep secrets from me."

Gulf laughs, "you never kept a secret from your parents when you were younger?"

Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki smiles as she realizes that she indeed kept many secrets from her parents.

"You are right, now it is time to help her transition. Nurse Manow already helped me talk to her a little more about this new change in her body."

"That's good, I know she feels strange, but she will overcome this," Gulf said.

"She is so strong to keep it a secret from me, my girl." Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki blows her nose.

"Excuse me, [she laughs as she folds the tissue] ah, please, for now, pretend that you don't know anything about it. She told me that when she is ready, she will let you know."

Gulf nodded, "I understand, she most feels shy about it. Don't worry, for now, I will wait for her to tell me."

"Thank you, I know you do not like to keep secrets, but I don't count this as a secret," Mrs. Sitwat-Suzuki smiles.

"Let's say that I will give her time when she is ready, she will let me know," Gulf smiles back.
