Slap!

Dr. Sam slapped Dr. Smith. "Don't you ever mention that again? It was a big mistake, and it will never happen. I love Gulf. Back off!"

Dr. Smith rubbed his left side, yet it is smiling. "You think he will love you as I do? You are delusional if you think he will ever be yours."

Dr. Sam pushes Dr. Smith. "He will be mine, you will see. I work so hard to get here and no one, not even you, will stop me. Why don't you pay more attention to your jealous girlfriend?" Sam once again pushes Dr. Smith and walks away.

Dr. Smith turns around to look at Dr. Sam up and down. "You will come to me all by yourself." Dr. Smith pulled out his phone and dialed his girlfriend's number.

Malee witnesses the scene between Dr. Sam and Dr. Smith as she was hiding behind a medical bed. "What are they talking about? Why Dr. Sam slapped Dr. Smith? Oh well, I don't like both of them, anyway." Malee moved a little bit lower when she noticed Dr. Sam passed by her.

When she noticed the coast was clear, she got out and headed to the rooftop. "I need to make sure no one is around. The guard will not be around here for another fifteen minutes. It will be enough to take a picture of the meteor shower and put it on my box of possibilities." Malee tiptoes to the rooftop, looking back and forth.

Malee carefully touches the door and can confirm the alarm is off. "Oh, they have not to fix it yet, that's good. Now, I just need to hurry up and take the picture."

The thing about Malee is that she knows the hospital so well. She has lived there almost all her life and knows the nurses' schedule and routine.

Pushing the door slowly, Malee was amazed to see the dark sky being lighted by so many stars. She looks up and, right away, noticed a meteor falling.

"Oh, a shooting star." She quickly took her instant camera and took a picture. "It's so beautiful!" When she was about to make another one, she heard some noises behind her. She ran to the back of the door and hid behind some paint buckets and a ladder.

She looks around and it was the guard doing his round. She waited for a while and go out.

"Ah! It hurts!" Malee screened, dropping the camera on the floor. When she tried to look around, she noticed that some rusty nails were left on the floor. Limping, she walks back to the pediatric ward.

She did not notice, but droplets of blood were left behind. When she realized it, she went back to clean them. Making it hard on her leg that was now too painful for her to keep walking.

When she was getting out of the elevator, the nurse covering the night shift walks out of the nurses' station, reading some files. Malee stays still, so she does not call the nurse's attention.

Malee keeps walking with difficulties, halfway there. Malee noticed the nurse coming back from the file room and runs to hide in the library. The pain was unbearable, she covers her mouth with one hand and the camera with the other.

"I will get in trouble; Gulf will be mad with me. He will be mad that I got out of my room."

Malee heard the guard and the nurse talking. She stays still and she saw two white sneakers standing next to her. She looks up and saw the nurse with her arm crossed and not happy.

"Malee, what are you doing here? Do you know that we are in trouble now because of you? What were you doing on the rooftop? Do you know how dangerous that is? Please go to your room and we talk about it Tomorrow."

Malee lowered her head and apologized. She tried with all her might not to limp.

She would not want her mom and Gulf to be mad with her. Malee starts to walk to her room. She could hear the nurse and the guard talking about her.
