Yuqi arrived late and shot the professor a sorry look before rushing to her seat. She looked around only to find no Soyeon and a Minnie whose head was buried in between a book, furiously scribbling notes on her notebook "Where's yeonnie?" Minnie shrugged before going back to her book.

As Yuqi was about to open her book and take notes, her phone buzzed, indicating a message, she opened it expecting the older girl she's looking for to text her why she's not in class but was a tad disappointed to see it was someone else.

Lucas: Hey! Wanna go to the bowling alley after school? I'm going with my friends but they told me to invite you too, no worries tho, if you don't want to go, that's totally okay

"Minnie eonni, are we doing anything later?" She whispered to Minnie who frowned, trying to remember if any plans were made but then shook her head "Not that I know of"

Yuqi stared at her phone trying to think of an excuse not to go but failed to do so. She wasn't going to do anything later and boredom is a bad thing for the bubbly girl so might as well go, right?

Yuqi: Sure, see you later!

Lucas: Cool, I'll wait for you at the parking lot then

She stuffed her phone back in her pocket before the professor could catch her and tried to focus on the lesson.

Soyeon sighed for the nth time as her fingers glided over the piano, trying to come up with the chords she needed for a song she's been working on. She already had the melody, all she needed was the chords. Usually, this is a piece of cake for the genius but with the Chinese girl occupying most of her mind, she's in shambles. "I can't believe this"

"Just because Yuqi's got a boyfriend, you're a mess?" She was now talking to herself.

Running a hand through her hair, she opened her phone only to find a text coming from the younger girl that's been living on her mind, rent-free

Yuqirin: Are you okay? I didn't see you in class today

Captain Jelly: I'm not in the right headspace for class today, I'm working on a song

Yuqirin: Are you going to join us for lunch?

Captain Jelly: No.

Soyeon shut her phone off and sat back down on the stool, just staring at the piano keys, trying to come up with something useful but her brain refused to do so

'I'm a fucking goner'

Yuqirin: Are you okay? I didn't see you in class today

Captain Jelly: I'm not in the right headspace for class, I'm working on a song

Yuqirin: Are you going to join us for lunch?

Captain Jelly: No.

Yuqi stared at her phone. It was currently lunchtime and she was still looking for the older girl who has gone missing since their first class. "Is Soyeon not coming?"

"Let's just give her some space, for now, Soojinie, she's probably in her zone again" Miyeon answered

That gave Yuqi an idea of where the genius producer might be, bidding her friends goodbye, she snatched the lunchbox she prepared and ran to the music room.

There, she found Soyeon lying on the floor next to the piano, earphones stuffed in her ears and humming along to the music. With no words, she sat down next to the short girl and placed the lunchbox next to her head

Noticing another presence, Soyeon took her eyes off her phone only to find Yuqi sitting next to her, smiling softly. Soyeon's spoiled mood was now long forgotten at the sight of the younger girl

"I brought you food" She gestured to the lunchbox that was in front of her and Yuqi nodded

"Did you cook this?" The girl nodded again, her eyes were glinting in excitement, she looked like a puppy 'cute'

Soyeon opened the container and her mouth almost immediately watered "It's 铁板牛肉" (tiěbǎn niúròu)

"You don't like veggies so I skipped it although I was very tempted to hide it in the dish" Soyeon narrowed her eyes at the mention of vegetables, making Yuqi chuckle. Everyone knew not to mess with Jeon Soyeon and vegetables but the younger girl loved to poke fun at the eonni

"Thanks but you didn't have to" Picking up the chopsticks, she grabbed a piece and popped it into her mouth savoring the taste. She looked over to the puppy who was waiting for her reaction "You've really outdone yourself this time Woogi" she praised while patting the girl on the head

A smug smile began to spread from Yuqi's lips at the praise of the girl. Truth be told, she was very nervous and had asked for her mom's advice countless times while cooking the dish which drove Mrs. Song almost insane (so she picked her mother up, at her mother's orders) and they cooked the beef dish together

It would've been the perfect bonding time that Yuqi has ever had with her mother if only the elder Song stopped berating her and demanding her to learn cooking extensively for her future and so that she wouldn't live off of ramen cup noodles and takeouts.
