Exactly at witching hour Tiago, Eldon and I left for the airport accompanied by our friend group, VOC and my brother, Riley. We checked in and sat in silence probably contemplating on how that massive change was going to ruin our multiple years of friendship.

No one had the audacity to disturb the pin drop silence blanketing us all.

When I had imagined that day I saw us dancing one of our countless routines together but we had already performed the last dance at Rocklin high.

I wanted to break the ice so bad but I wasn't sure of what to say and whether it would sit well with my friends. I guess we all had preventative thoughts running through our minds that inhibited us from speaking.

After a painstakingly long time, Riley not so gracefully cleared his throat and spoke 'So this is how you're going to spend the last day together,' he said and proceeded to mumble 'Immature brats.'

At that moment I felt like encasing him in a bone crushing hug for I had never loved the words that came out of that weirdo's mouth until that day.

We all began to nod in agreement to Riley's words and that's when one of my friends picked a bag of chips and dumped the contents all over our heads. In a blink of an eye, we were all throwing food items at each other enjoying the weirdly satisfying food fight.

Tiago stuffed chips and licorice in my mouth causing me to gag and laugh uncontrollably. I loved the two separate but together they made a rather disgusting pair.

In turn I shoved all chocolate flavored candy down his awaiting gut. I ignored the crazed looks we got from the people around as they had no clue how that moment was vital to my friend group, VOC.

The feeling of cold water running down my back ensured me that my clothes were surely messed up but I was glad to have had the best two hours that would become an unforgettable memory.

Unfortunately, time awaits no one. We hugged for the very last time. Tiago left a five hundred dollar bill at the café counter and we left to board the Shunn aircraft. I felt a rush of sadness as I climbed the stairway increasing the distance between my friends and I.

Tiago who had been carrying my hand luggage carefully placed it in the ceiling vaults.

With a gentle kiss on my cheek we parted as I left for the bathroom with a sanitary bag in my hands. I took a well needed shower to remove all the food fight remnants and made my way back to my seat just in time for the safety precautions announcement by the air hostess. I totally tuned her out with the mindset that I had already been on a plane before and that there was nothing new to learn.

As I settled I realized that neither Tiago nor Eldon was my seat mate and my heart skipped a bit; obviously not the romantic way.

I hastily stood from my seat and began searching the seats behind mine when two slender fingers snapped right infront of my face.

I gazed down at the disrespectful human being only to find that it was Tiago.

'Girl sit your backside down, and look where you're supposed to,' he said.

I wasn't in the mood for his messed up humor so I glared down at him to which he nonchalantly brushed off. 'I guess you're looking for your sweet boyfriend,' he gagged 'he's sitting somewhere in front, there were no double seats when we booked so this was our last resort.' He explained.

'Oh' is all I could say before I turned back in my seat with my bottom lip protruding I in a pout.

The plane had taken off and I was sitting quietly when a tall, mascular, fairly good looking man took the seat beside me. He had a turquoise towel draped around his shoulders suggesting that he had been in the shower that whole time. I couldn't help but scoot towards the window away from him as his delicious scent intoxicated my whole being.

My eyes involuntarily darted towards him a little more than I desired to which absolutely backfired when he caught me staring and raised a questioning brow.

I briskly turned my head away from him as I felt my heart race and my cheeks burn at the intensity of his gaze.

Enjoying the view, I stuck my head to the window fantasizing about swimming in the supposed land of milk and honey; the delicious looking clouds. I spent most of the following time either gazing out or inelegantly searching for my boyfriend.

'Hey why do you keep standing and obstructing me?' the anonymous guy asked.

'Uhm..... a friend of mine is sitting somewhere there and I kinda need to see where he is.'

With an aggravated huff, he briefly nodded and looked away from me. When I couldn't get a glimpse of Eldon, I sat back down as the boredom started to kick in. I had gone through my miniscule playlist, the film playlist that the plane had, the novels that I had brought along and the delicacies that had been served. I went through the film playlist again and picked one just to pass the time.

Minutes into the movie and I couldn't help but notice my seatmate who was watching my movie.

The way he scooted closer and began to breathe down my neck is what got my blood boiling.

Who did he think he was to go all commando on me and then invade my personal space? I roughly switched off the monitor and eased into my seat as if I was taking a well needed nap.

What he did next shocked every nerve in my body. He placed a gentle kiss on my cheek and began singing lullabies right next to my ear.

'What the hell?' I scowled. ' I'm sure my man wouldn't like that'

Who kisses a random stranger on a plane?

'Well I bet I'm a little more enticing to the eyes than he is.' He joked with a knowing smirk. I didn't give in to his clear attempt to infuriate me and resorted to glaring daggers in his direction. 'I'm just trying to be friendly.' He said more seriously.

'Totally love the idea but don't you think you're over doing it?' I said with a reprimanding tone.

In return he just stared at me with his bottom lip jutted out as if I had stolen candy from him. Immediately feeling the need to escape the awkward situation I stood with my toiletry bag and walked the narrow pathway to the bathroom. After I had relieved both my bladder and my nerves, I returned to my seat.

I was about to collapse into my seat when a gush of wind hit the plane sending me across an oblivious man's lap.

I looked up at my seatmate with wavering hope that he was asleep which unfortunately he wasn't.

Where does one begin when caught in such entanglements?
