(A/N- English thoughts and Spanish dialogue)

Years ago...

"¡mi amor mi amor! ¡Despierta!" Mamá was waking me -it was more of a startling than an awakening. Oh mama.

Ugh

"¿por qué mamá?" I questioned with a whine.

"es hora de ir," she was quick to answer.

It's already time to leave.

I couldn't really wake up before the woman was dragging me by the arm and out of my bed. She eventually walked out the back door. She told me that we would leave and never return here. I made sure to pack everything I cherished.

I packed memories.

"¡Ven ahora mi amor!" she yelled from outside, rushing me.

I finished zipping my bag as I heard the front door slam; that force shook the foundation. The realization came soon after.

My mom left out the back door, not the front.

He was here.

I locked my door like my mother had taught me. It was now habit to lock the door when he was like this... when he was angry.

He yelled something but I couldn't hear it over the back door flinging open, my mother was in the doorway. He began to pound on my door. I jumped back in fear of the man behind my bedroom door. I felt a mild relief when my mother -now with tears filling up her eyes- ran towards me with her arms reaching, longing for me.

I was glad to leave.

I jumped into her arms. She grabbed me and threw me out of the room. I stumbled from the impact, but I got to my feet again. Then the door busted open, I guess the lock gave out.

The moment I saw him, I cried. I hated him.

"¡Corre hacia el coche!" my mother screamed at me. I ran to the car like she demanded me.

As I jumped in the vehicle, my mother was pushed to the ground by the man.

That scared me so much that I began to sob. I locked my door, but I didn't feel safe. She was still out there.

Through the blurry vision, I saw my mother pick up a glass bottle and smash it into his chest. He stumbled back in pain as he screamed curses at her. This gave my mother enough time to push him away before making a run for the car.

I was practically screaming through my sobs. I'm going to die.

My mother hopped in the car, slamming and then locking the door. She was crying uncontrollably too, but she stomped on the gas. He ran after the car screaming... until he collapsed. Serves him right.

My mother was hysterical.

I turned my head to look at the road we were going down, I was exhausted. This was all too much to handle.

I closed my eyes. I slowly lost consciousness and drifted into a deep sleep. The last thing I remembered was my mother crying and swearing under her breath.

It was over, right?

(A/N- Thanks for reading! Oh and if you couldn't tell, that was the story of Luisa and María fleeing from Antonio in María's point of view. And the italics were her present day thought of what had happened. She doesn't exactly remember what happened, but she remembers the emotions she felt.)

(A/N- here are the words in Spanish translated to English:

¡mi amor mi amor!  ¡Despierta!
my love my Love!  Awake!

¿por qué mamá?
Why mom?

es hora de ir
it's time to go

¡Ven ahora mi amor!
Come now my love!

¡Corre hacia el coche!
Run to the car! )

(A/N- I really tried to make the translation easy for you non Spanish speakers, but it ended up with having a chapter with VERY little dialogue. Just take it as the Luisa and María were in such a rush that they didn't speak that much and Luisa wasn't around María to talk to her, or that María simply didn't speak to her mother in this chapter. Idk. But
anyways I  love you amazing people❤️)
