I have to face him...

As the school day came to a close, I had successfully avoided all the guys, except for one.

The bell rang.

Last Period is over.

I made my way to the bus in a slow and unmotivated manner.

I walked up the steps, not knowing what to expect.

What will he think?

I had my oversized hoodie on, probably looking like a druggie.

I had my head down, staring at my feet.

I finally looked up to see if he was there, and sure enough, he was there.

I barely made an effort to walk his way.

I got to the seat and just sat without uttering a single syllable, I turned away from him.

"María?"

I couldn't bear to look at him.

Two hands grab at my waist and slide me backwards. He moved me from the outside of the seat, to the inside, by the window.

"Hey. Techno..."

I leaned against the window, as if it were going to hide me. I didn't look at him.

"María."

"Yes?"

"Can you face me?"

Face him.

"I'd rather not."

"María, I need you to face me," his voice was stern, he was determined to make me face him.

I decided to obey and look up at his face. He had this concerned look on his face, until he saw me, then his face filled with worry.

"I'm sorry," I wasn't sure what I was sorry about, but it felt necessary to say.

He wrapped his arms around me gently.

I made a noise when he squeezed my arm. He quickly tried to remove his arms from around me.

I grabbed the front of his sweatshirt and pulled him closer.

"No, you're warm."

I felt my hood fall down, exposing the entirety of my face.

He lifted my chin with his thumb and brushed away the hair that was covering my face. I just sat there, waiting.

"María?"

"Mhm?"

"Who did this to you?"

I moved away from him.
