Maddy tapped Allie lightly on the shoulder, attempting to steady her breathing as she Allie turned to face her.

"Hey, Maddy," she smiled. Maddy waved slightly as she sat down beside her. Polly glanced at them peculiarly, but Maddy was too fixated on not turning the colour of the Weasley's hair to notice.

Knowing she'd chicken out if she didn't do it bluntly, Maddy explained to the whole debacle with Andrew Kirke and how she needed help with attempting to teach him a thing or two about Quidditch.

Allie frowned, "You want me to help?"

I just need help with my poster and some translating. What do you say? Please?

Allie shrugged, "Sure, why not? What time?"

Five.

She nodded, before continuing talking with Polly like nothing had happened.

Maddy made her way back to Simon with a face-splitting grin. She agreed!

"I know," said Simon, "You think I wasn't watching?"

Maddy rolled her eyes but continued eating with a smile on her face.

After classes and her tutoring session, Maddy only had half an hour or so to make the poster. Luckily, Allie and Polly volunteered to help her. The poster was simple enough, it had Polly's hand drawn directional signals (which were just a picture of a bat in different directions), and Maddy and Allie wrote out what each one meant to be.

Maddy thanked them, and quickly changed into her Quidditch robes while Allie put on a couple layers.

"I promised Sam and Rose I'd go meet them in the Library, so if you don't see us at dinner, that's where we are," Polly told them. Maddy nodded and grabbed her bat off of her trunk, because she didn't trust it in the supply shed, and rested it on her shoulder.

"Ask my brother if he has a letter to send home, because it would be easier to use one owl." Allie said as she wrapped her Gryffindor scarf around her neck, and moved her braids out of the way. "If he does, tell him to bring it to dinner. Okay?"

"Got it," said Polly, before bidding them goodbye.

Allie picked up the poster, and made their way outside. "You're insane to play in this weather," shivered Allie, "It's got to be like one degree outside."

Maddy shrugged it off, but didn't reply as she had the bad in her hand.

Maddy led Allie down to the Pitch. The hopeful seekers were clumped together, listening to whatever spiel Angelina was giving. The rest of the players, bar Andrew, were sitting in a circle, tossing a Quaffle around. Andrew stood alone spinning his bat, though he managed to whack himself in the head with it.

"Careful, Kirke," yelled Alicia, before she tossed the Quaffle to Ron, who in the commotion almost dropped it.

Kirke rubbed his head, before noticing Maddy, and walked over to her. "Angelina said that you and I would be practicing together?"

Maddy bit her bottom lip, but half shook her head, half nodded. If there was one thing about Kirke, it's that he never took Maddy seriously. He was a fourth year, and despite Maddy being fairly tall for her age, towered over her. He also had almost twice her muscle mass, and made Maddy look like a twig.

Allie held out the poster, and Maddy used her bat like a pointer. Kirke read the title out loud. "Beater signals one-oh-one for dummies." he frowned, "I'm not a dummy."
