"Hem, hem. Professor Binns, would it bother you if I borrow Lupin for a moment."

Maddy looked up, as her head had been on her desk. It was the following day, just after lunch, and Maddy was bored out of her wits as she sat in History of Magic. Simon was enthralled by the subject already, and somehow was managing to listen to Binns without falling asleep.

"Lupin?" Binns muttered to himself, "Very well." He then continued to aimlessly drone on.

Simon gave her a scared look that she shrugged off, and stood up and strode out of the classroom.

Umbridge didn't speak, just led Maddy down the hall to her classroom. Maddy gave her a questioning look, as usually a teacher would take a student to their office, and Umbridge gave her a giggle.

"My office is too precious for you," she told her, and gestured for Maddy to take a seat.

Maddy felt slightly relieved at that. She wasn't sure she could cope with going to her father's old office. It would bring too many memories.

Feeling slightly rebellious, because she was already certain this visit had something to do with the blood test, and if she was going down, she was going down hard, she sat on the desk, crossing her legs underneath her.

Umbridge glared at her, but didn't say a word. She slammed a notebook next to her, along with two quills and a bowl of ink. Maddy picked up the notebook, and noticed that there were the words: Communicating with the little freak inscribed in the front. She opened to the first page, so she couldn't see the words.

"I assume you know why you're here."

Maddy nodded, picking up the quill and twirling it between her fingers.

"Twenty-five." She spat.

Maddy's lips tugged downward, but she hadn't a clue what Umbridge meant by that number.

"You really are as dimwitted as they come. Twenty-five percent lycanthropy in the blood sample I took."

Maddy's eyes widened, before she let out a shaky breath. She was about to dip the quill in the ink when Umbridge said, "The other quill."

Maddy bit her lip, before switching the quills, and dipping the new one in the ink. Does that mean I have guaranteed immunity?

Umbridge frowned, "Not that you deserve it. But, only partly, seeing as you are on the cusp. I can't give you detentions, but I can monitor them."

Wouldn't the teacher that gave me detention monitor it?

"If a prefect or someone else with authority gives you detention, you will serve it with me. Understand?"

Maddy nodded. Any other rules and regulations I should be aware of?

"You are allowed to be a part of any clubs. That is, if students would allow a half-breed such as yourself to join."

Maddy smirked, an idea forming in her head. Any club?

Umbridge nodded, "That's what Minerva said. Even when I have full power, consider yourself lucky you're out of my reach. Though," Umbridge gave her a toad-like grin, "what Minerva doesn't know can't hurt her."

Maddy uncrossed her legs, and let them dangle over the edge of the desk. Umbridge said "when" not "if", and Maddy wasn't comfortable with that. Quidditch?

Umbridge frowned, "First years aren't allowed on the team." She told her.

But my immunity allows me to join ANY club, and last time I checked, Quidditch was a club.
