"How long is this ride?" Rose asked. The sweets had long been finished, and the sun was already beginning to set.

Maddy shrugged, wiping some chocolate off of the corner of her mouth. We had a little predicament involving a couple dementors last time, so I'm not exactly sure. Doesn't hurt to get ready early, though.

Simon slipped on his robe, and did the top button. "When you came to pick me up from the Orphanage, Maddy, I didn't expect I'd have to wear a robe like you."

Allie stopped with one arm in the robe, "You guys wear this stuff at home?"

Maddy nodded. My grandmother was a Muggle, so I wouldn't have it as bad as a Pureblood family would. My godfather, who's a Pureblood, told me that he wore jeans for the first time when he was 12, and borrowed a pair from his best friend. I haven't worn one since I got my leather jacket last July, however.

Simon scratched above his ear after he had finished translated. "You know you'll have to take that off, right?" He frowned, and shook his head disapprovingly as Maddy attempted to put on her robe over her jacket.

She sent a rude gesture in his direction as she hopped around the compartment, trying to put her arm in.

"I think Simon's right," said Sam. "I don't think that'll work."

Maddy pouted, but reluctantly took off her leather jacket, and put it on the bench behind her. She slipped the robe over her dress, and did the button, before flipping her ponytail over the hood. She folded the jacket, and put it safely in her rucksack.

"Is it stopping?" asking Sam.

Maddy peaked out of the compartment, and everything seemed normal enough. She turned back. I don't see any dementors. Simon translated for her.

"I don't know what a dementor is, but I'll go with it." Allie said, tying her hair, which the ever-unobservant Maddy had just realised had been twisted into many little twists, since the last time she saw her, into one large ponytail.

"That's what attacked Harry, right?" Simon asked.

Rose stared at him, "You mean Harry Potter? Haven't you read the articles on him?"

Maddy glared at her. That's all a lie. Don't believe the propaganda.

"I've met Harry," added Simon, "He doesn't seem like the type of person to do that." Maddy nodded along.

Simon leaned out of the compartment, taking in the hallway. "I think we're here." The train screeched to a halt.

Hagrid's usually calling for first years. We should try and find him.

Maddy led the other's off the train, looking around for the half-giant. She ran into Fred, George, and Lee, and asked if they could carry her rucksack to the Great Hall. If I'm not a Gryffindor, give it to me after the feast.

That was when she heard a woman call, "First years line up over here, please! All first years to me!"

Where's Hagrid? asked Maddy.

"You're the only one who has been here before. Don't expect us to know," responded Simon.

"Oi! Lupin!"

Maddy turned at the sound of her name to face Draco Malfoy.

If it isn't Bleachy Boy. she taunted.

"You better get packing. Hogwarts' won't keep a half-breed like you." jeered Pansy Parkinson.

Crabbe and Goyle laughed at their antics.
