Emma walked a couple of meters before noticing that her friend had stopped for a while
<Uh? Oliver?>

he had a sad look that she noticed better when his eyes met hers.
<emma I wanted to ask you something>

<S-sure> that caught her off guard.
<I'm .... I just ...>
he didn't know how to start the conversation, so he decided to just listened to Gilda's advice and talk to her

<are you sure you're okay?>

<huh?> she felt a pang in her chest

Oliver lowered his eyes again
<I'm worried about you. Since we got back yesterday I see you acting strange. You've also skipped two meals including today's breakfast. And then ...>

he was about to tell he heard her cry the night before but stopped when he saw her eyes shine

<I'm fine oliver> she tried to smile, but inside she felt she was about to give in.
He walked over to her and put his hand on her head
<everything is fine Emma. If you need to talk I will listen to you>

Emma gasped.

Comfort.

For all this time she had been looking for answers about what she felt on her own when all she needed was comfort, someone standing by her side and listen to her.

Oliver saw her eyes sparkle even more when they were covered in tears
<e-emm->
<I don't know.

I just don't know what I feel. I just ... can't stop to think about that scene. I tried so hard to keep my mind busy, but every time I do it comes to me the memory of Ray and Anna ... and I feel so sad, and I don't know why>
she started sobbing

Oliver looked at her tenderly. He liked emma, in that way. But he couldn't stand seeing her that way.

<oh. So you can't understand what you feel, am I right?>
The girl nodded, wiping the tears away
<Emma what you feel is called jealousy>

<W-what ?! Me!? Jealous? No. It can't be. I can't be jealous of Anna. She is my sister, we grew up together, she saved my life thanks to her medical knowledge. She is a really great person. How can I be so ungrateful to be jealous of her?!>

<emma it's not a fault to be jealous. We are humans and jealousy is part of us. Especially towards the people we care most> he smiled at her,stroking her head.
<you don't have to feel guilty. Everything is fine>

Emma hugged him and began to cry, releasing all the stress and sadness she had accumulated.
Oliver hugged her as he tapped her on the back to let her vent.
Deep down he wanted to do the same, after realizing that emma had feelings for another person. But right now she needed him. He had to be there for her.

Several minutes pass and then he broke away from that embrace.
<do you feel better?>
<yes. Thank you oliver>
<don't mention it. I think we should go back or the others will get worry>

She nodded and together they headed for the shelter.

When they returned they were greeted by Jemina and Dominic who helped them carry their food supplies to the kitchen.

Emma headed to the infirmary to bring the new medicinal herbs collected. When she walked in she saw Anna and Zack discussing about medical things, while Nat was cleaning the room

<oh, hi emma!> They greeted her with a nice smile.
She couldn't help but feel guilty again for feeling jealous of Anna. She approached her younger sister and hugged her

<I love you anna..>
Anna did not understand the reason for her actions but hugged her back smiling
<hahah me too>
<what do you need emma?> Nat asked teasing her

<I just wanna hug her>
<ah ha>
<What. Do you want a hug too?> Emma played along

<you have to catch me first!>
<challenge accepted!> and together they started running out of the room laughing, under the shocked eyes of zack
"Tag is a matter of honor at Grace Field, huh"

<Hey I wanted to ask you something>
Don whispered to Ray as Gilda preceded them. They had just finished another intensive training, and were exiting the weapons room

<hm? What?>
<well ... it's about the conversation we had before>
<I hear you>

<well ... it's embarrassing ... but ... I wanted to ask you ... how is it possible that you did those things with emma ?! I'm still shocked. I mean ... I didn't think you were the type>
Ray looked at him astonished by his words

<What ?! I'm not that kind of person. I don't even have experience about that stuff!> he blushed violently
<oh no ... you don't> Don looked at him with a smile as he crossed his arms over his chest

<look. it was an accident!>

In the days when Emma had been in a coma for four weeks, the boy went to the library to find something interesting to read.
When he arrived, he saw thoma climbing the shelves as lannion pointed out the direction
<W-what the hell are you doing?!>

<Huh?>
Thoma jumped in surprise and slipped into the void, pulling some books with him from the shelf
Ray managed to grab him in his arms in time before he could reach the floor.

<R-Ray you saved me!> he wrapped his arms around him.
<what are you two idiots trying to do?!>

Lannion approached concerned
<we wanted to get that book up there.>
<we know it was dangerous, but we also know that you guys are busy looking after emma so we didn't want to bother you....I'm sorry.> Thoma continued with a guilty air.

Ray looked at them tenderly and put his hands in each of their heads, stroking them.
<you are not a nuisance. I know you're worried about emma. I hope she will come back to us soon too, but you don't have to do things like that anymore. You don't need to.
If you need something just come and call me, alright?>

The two nodded, still staring down.
<So. which book do you want to get?> He resumed, approaching the shelf on which the child was hung before

<that one that talks about trains!>

Ray reached out, grabbing a book and handed it to the two kids.
<alright. Here you go>
<thank you ray!> They hugged him, then ran out of the room.

<those pests ...> he reached down to pick up all the books that had previously fallen with thoma, and one in particular caught his attention.

"What ... is this?"
It was a book with a red cover without a title. He placed all the others on the shelf, ordering them and then concentrating on the mysterious book.

He opened it and his eyes widened.

"What ?!"
It was full of pictures not really suitable for children like those two.
The curiosity ,born from his being a teenager,led him to leaf through a few pages, but after a series of images he closed the book, still in shock, and put it in his place

<W-what?!>
