Tonight, we in Scotland celebrate the birth of our nations poet, Robert Burns.

We commemorate this night by partaking in the traditional Burns Supper. This consists of the main meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

Haggis is minced heart, liver, lung, mixed with oatmeal and then cooked in a sheep's stomach. Neeps is the Scottish word for Turnips and Tatties is the Scottish word for Potatoes.

We then recite poems written by Robert Burns.

As a Scot, I'm proud of these traditions and wanted to take the opportunity to wish you all a very happy Burns Night.

Ye pow'rs, wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware,
That jaups in luggies:
But, if ye wish her gratefu prayer,
Gie her a Haggis
