So! Apparently, just giving you the overview of my three favorite (after S.I.D.E, of course) Sanders Sides AUs I've come up with so far wasn't enough! I gotta give you snippets and details and fun facts!
Not that I'm complaining, of course. It really is fun to talk about my AUs without having to actually do stuff like... uh, write it... and come up with a decent plot structure... especially for the runaway lesbian 1920's AU that you guys seemed to like...
Anyways. Let's dive in.
So, I have actually already written the first twelve chapters of the Greek Mythology AU (and it's meant to be fairly short in length---like, only fifteen chapters, tops), and I am all for giving you guys a couple of spoilers and details about the characters! You see, I got to use some knowledge of actual Greek mythology in there---cultivated over years of being obsessed with the myths as a smol child, reading the Percy Jackson books in second grade and being engrossed with the world ever since, and, more recently, binge-watching OSP's Miscellaneous Myths series at every given opportunity.
So, here's some stuff for you guys to enjoy:
Janus's feathered hat and sandals react to his moods---they flutter when he's excited, nervous, or horny, and there are times when he's so damn happy that he just unintentionally starts flying---and the wings droop when he's depressed or just feeling sad.
Roman's design is absolutely gorgeous and makes me wish I could draw---he's got long, flowing hair, he's got a white tunic that fades into red and looks like a sunset, he's got gold sandals, he's got a quiver slung over his shoulder and the strap kind of imitates the sash---it's just amazing and I really wanna draw it but I can't!
Virgil's design is ALSO gorgeous, and very fitting of a death god---long, dark purple hair that's usually kept in a braid or a ponytail, pitch-black skin, bright violet eyes, and huge purple-and-black wings that make him seem ten times bigger than he actually is. If you take all that into account, it's really no wonder that Roman fell for him.
I managed to incorporate the whole three-face symbolism that Hecate has into Remus for this, but instead of actually giving him three faces, it's more like he has three distinct personalities that are all simultaneously true. Mortals think of him as a wild and unpredictable force that thrives on destruction, the gods think of him as a party guy who does cool tricks and makes people laugh, and people close to him, like Janus, consider him someone that they can confide in and be safe around. And all three of them are right---Remus loves chaos, he loves partying, and he's a really good person to be friends with... and he's a pretty good partner, too. It all depends on how you choose to view him.
Patton's main story arc does revolve around him falling for Logan and eventually marrying him, but it also revolves around self-discovery. Y'see, you probably already know that his mom's Demeter---who is less of the goddess of the harvest and more of the goddess of overprotective and controlling parents. And there's a lot of things that factor into her sheltering of Patton---the fact that she's had bad experiences with male gods and refuses to let her little boy go through the same thing, the fact that Patton's actually more powerful than her and she doesn't want to be shunted to the side (again), and the fact that she's just overprotective in general---but essentially, part of the reason that Patton goes down to the Underworld is so he can discover who he is without his mother's restrictions weighing him down.
Logan calls Patton "Starlight," which I've decided is something that he does in all of my AUs.
Logan is incredibly gentle with Patton, and he blushes pretty much every time Patton's mentioned or Patton says or does something affectionate. Also, gods have golden blood, so Logan blushes gold. It's adorable.
