The Amphibia AU

Premise

Yep, I said I was gonna do something like this, and here we go. Been putting a lot of thought into this, if I'm being honest. If you're familiar with the show, then you know where my thoughts are headed.

What the characters are like

Janus: He's Anne! And before you look at me weird for that choice, it actually fits him pretty well. Both of them do want to do the right thing, and they're also fiercely protective over those they care about, but they're also kind of troublemakers, and they can be a bit selfish at times. I think Janus would make a great Anne.

Patton: Hop Pop. It's kind of self-explanatory---I mean, he's a dad, he looks out for his family, he's always worried about making sure everyone's safe---it fits.

Logan: Now, he was a little harder, but I thought he might make a decent Sprig. While a little outside of the box, Sprig is a pretty intelligent character, and he's got some great moments. I do like writing Logan with a bit of an unpredictable side, and I think he and Janus would be great friends given the opportunity. So, yeah.

Virgil: Had to make him Polly. I adore making Virgil the ride-or-die chaotic friend, and him and Logan having a sibling dynamic would be perfect.

Roman: So, I debated this for a while, but I ended up making him Sasha. I always like giving Roman a bit of a bratty edge, and it'd be cool for him to be a sort-of antagonist. Really, he'd be a fantastic Sasha, and it could also give me that oh-so-sweet rivalry between him and Janus that I love to write.

Remus: He's Marcy! And yeah, I know, the "smart character" thing would work better for Logan, but Remus is canonically very clever and good at doing puzzles and shit, and with the cheery personality and green color scheme, it kind of fits in. Also, yeah, I'm a Marcanne shipper. Had to include that in.

Why I like it so much

I unexpectedly got invested in the show---it's about talking frogs and toads and newts and yet it is seriously dark and deep and funny---and since The Owl House is on its mid-season hiatus and Amphibia's coming back next month, I figured I might explore it a bit. So... yeah.

The Addams Family AU

Premise

Seeing as there are MULTIPLE different incarnations of this iconic family, this one follows the plot of the 1990s movies—my personal favorite, though it's tied with the musical since I helped out with a production of it a couple years ago. And I've had this at the back of my mind for a while, but what the hell? It's Halloween season, and I think it's appropriate.

What the characters are like

Remus: He's Gomez! I feel like between the mustache, the adoration of blood, the drama, and the absolute insanity, that was pretty evident. Besides, making Remus a swordfighter is a choice that, while it might be an awful idea to give him a sword, is something that I love to do. And making him Gomez means that I also get to make him a great dad and incredible husband. Speaking of which...

Janus: Our snek boi is none other than the goddess and queen herself, Morticia Addams. There really is no other option for him, and seeing as he and Remus are already essentially a gay version of Gomez and Morticia, why not make that official? He's as much as a queen as she is, and he's a great father, too.
