Even More AU Sampling

So, this time, I'm going to be talking about some MORE AUs that I've come up with---one of which I started and lost inspiration for, one of which I probably won't get down, and one of which won't leave me the fuck alone. I'm also probably going to end up talking about canonverse Augustus, so... buckle up. I tone him down significantly in S.I.D.E.

The Good Omens AU

Premise

It's... pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It's a steady mixture of the show and the book (and I did reference the book pretty heavily when I was still writing it), and it's the only fanfiction of mine that does not, in fact, contain Dukeceit. Yes, I'm capable of doing that. Well, okay, I stopped during War's introduction, but still.

Come to think of it, maybe that's the reason I stopped. Maybe I can't finish Sanders Sides fanfictions that don't have Dukeceit.

What the characters are like

Janus: Takes on the role of Crowley, but he's actually the put-together, somewhat-stuffy gentleman of the duo. He's still wonderfully chaotic, just also elegant and clothes-obsessed. And yes, he's the one who almost got beheaded during the French Revolution because of how nicely he dressed. The man has his standards, after all.

Patton: Takes on the role of Aziraphale, though he's the human disaster. He's just as bookish as our angel is in canon, however, and every bit as loving. He also chooses to have an Southern American accent, because I always imagine Patton with that accent and the fact that this takes place in England doesn't change that. And he's just... a doll. A doll who could kill you if he wanted to, but still.

Logan: Takes on the role of Anathema Device, and boy does it suit him. He's every bit as inquisitive and amazingly badass as she is, and his wardrobe pretty much consists of navy pinstripe suits---just to make a good impression. He's also transgender and very proud of it, and he picked his name because Agnes mentioned it in The Book.

Remus: Takes on the role of Newt Pulsifier, but he's still Remus at heart. His technology curse did have a factor in him deciding to join the Witchfinder Army, but it was also coupled with the fact that he's just a Human Disaster and really can't handle doing minimum-wage jobs. He's also a bit of a flirt, which Logan is not amused by when they first meet. He's just... chaos. Intentionally and unintentionally.

Virgil: Takes on the role of Shadwell, though he's got some significant changes. He's still fairly paranoid, and he's still a complete grump, but he doesn't really believe in the Army's cause---he's really only doing this because his family has all been part of the Witchfinder Army, and since he's the last one, he kind of has to carry on the tradition. Plus, he kind of wants to learn how to be a witch. He's got a very strong Scottish accent, and he runs on coffee alone.

Roman: Takes on the role of Madame Tracy, and... I don't think I need to elaborate. He's just as glam and dramatic as he is in canon, and the role of Madame Tracy pretty much works perfectly for him.

Thomas: Takes on the role of Adam, and he's a very sweet Antichrist. Not much to say for him. (Also, Joan is Brian, Talyn is Wensleydale, and Valerie is Pepper.)

Why I'm so obsessed with it

To be honest, I'm not obsessed with it now, but Good Omens AUs are very nice, and Moceit is actually pretty damn adorable. And I did have the time of my life writing that Crowley-pins-Aziraphale-to-the-wall scene with them... especially since it proved that with Janus, seductive and threatening are pretty non-distinguishable.
