Peter POV:"Where do I sign?"
As soon as those words left Eddie's mouth, I had to keep myself from bursting. Was this really happening?! No... it couldn't be! No one would ever want Peter Parker, the orphan. Puny Parker...
But these people did. My new... family? It's been a while since I've had one of those. Maybe this time it would be different. Maybe Parker LuckTM wouldn't strike again. Maybe I'd actually have a normal life for once. But I'd never forget my parents, aunt, and uncle. Never.
As soon as Ms. Miller overcame her shock, I was told to go upstairs and pack up my stuff. That only took like four minutes to be honest, then I was back down the stairs. Everyone else was also still downstairs, and they all looked so happy for me. Especially Franky, though he looked a little sad too. And I was also sad, because we would have to leave each other. He became like a little brother to me, and maybe, just maybe, I'd be able to convince my new family to come back and take him too.
As I reached Eddie and Anne, Eddie put his arm around my shoulder, and walked me towards the door. I looked back at Franky and gave him a small wave. He smiled a bit and waved back. I'd be back for him.
[ Ronald here to give you an unnecessary time skip to the outdoors! =]<>~<>[= ]
All I had was my backpack with my school stuff, and a small duffel with a few personal things. I was holding both, because they weren't that heavy, but Eddie insisted on carrying the duffel.
They had said that they parked a few blocks away, so we were walking down the street. We already passed the spot where I first saw Iron Man a few days ago... But I was taken out of my thoughts when a man jumped out of an alley, a mask covering his face, and a gun pointed at us. He asked for all our money. Typical.
My first thought was to attack him, but my new family was around to see. So I couldn't do anything. But if they guy shot Eddie or Anne, and I didn't stop him, it would be my fault. I can't live with another person dying because of me.
But then something weird happened. Anne told me to get behind her, and she stepped back around the corner slowly, with me. Why did we leave Eddie-
AHHHHHHH! S-STAY BACK!
Someone screamed, and I was afraid that it was Eddie. I rushed round the corner to find the guy with the mask running... away? Eddie turned around and he had some sort of black around his eyes. But it faded and he ran up to us.
"Hey, are you guys ok?" He asked, sounding scared, but like he was trying to hide being brave. I worked up the nerve to ask about what he did to make that guy flee.
"H-How did you... Why did that guy run away?" I asked, and Eddie seemed to hesitate.
"Just uh, I know some martial arts and scared him off..." He said like I was supposed to believe him, but I didn't. Though I let it drop for the sake of losing my new family the day I just got them.
We continued walking until we came to a white prius. Anne got in the driver's seat, and Eddie got in the passengers. I hopped in the back, and Eddie gave me my duffle back. The car ride was quiet for a few moments before Eddie turned round in his seat to face me.
"You know, I was an orphan too, I know how it feels Pete. But I never had anyone adopt me, so were both new at this. But we wanna make you feel as comfortable as possible." Eddie said, and I nodded along. "So if there's anything you need to tell us, don't feel like you can't." He finished and I looked up at him.
"I will, and I have a question." I asked.
"Shoot." Eddie said.
"Where do you live? I mean uh, like where's your house?" I asked, hoping I'd be able to stay at the same school.
"It's right outside of Queens, and just within your school district. Midtown High right?" Eddie responded, and I smiled a little at that. But then Anne asked the question I'd been dreading.
"I know this is probably a touchy subject for you, but we kind of need to know how your um, parents died." She said, and my smile faded a bit and I looked down.
"Oh- ok..." I said, and Eddie spoke up.
"You don't have to right now if you don't-" He started but I cut him off.
"No- no it's ok. So um... My parents died in a plane crash when I was three, so I moved in with my Aunt and Uncle. T-they... They were the best... *sniff* But on m-my seventh birthday..." I said, but stopped and took a shaky breath.
Don't break down Peter... Don't do it. If you can keep yourself together with the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, you can keep yourself together here- Nope. I broke down. Silent tears traced their way down my face.
"I came h-home and o-our apart- apartment was burnt d-down. T-they didn't m-make it. T-they were the b-b-best..." I sobbed, and I felt the car pull over and the doors on either side of me open. Anne and Eddie came to sit in the back with me. They pulled me into a tight hug, and I latched onto them. By now I was full on sobbing, and we ended up staying like that for a good few minutes before I pulled away. Wiping tears away from my face I looked up at both of them to see that they were also crying a bit.
"T-thanks..." I said, and Anne looked me in the eyes.
"Any time," she said, gave me a quick hug, and got back in the driver's seat. Though Eddie stayed next to me in the back, and I ended up leaning on his shoulder about a minute later when we started moving again. I soon fell asleep.
Eddie POV:
Soon I felt small snores coming from my left, and I realized that Peter had fallen asleep. He was so adorable, but he'd suffered tremendous loss. But as someone who's lost their own parents, I know that showing him pity won't do any good. It would only make him feel guilt. I would know.
The car stopped, and Anne got out. She came around to the side and opened the door, grabbing Peter's two bags. She mouthed the word 'asleep' to me, and I nodded. Carefully, I opened my door and grabbed Peter bridal style and carried him up to our apartment. About halfway up the stairs Peter started to wake up, and I stopped to let him down. He groggily rubbed his eyes, and looked around. Then he looked up at me and smiled.
"Are we here?" He asked me, and I ushed him up the next set of stairs.
"Yep," I said. "Right... here." I said stopping at a door and pulling out a key. Anne was behind me with Peter's stuff. I opened the door and looked at Peter.
"Well Peter... Welcome to your new home!"

I feel like I'm getting in these updates faster then I usually would.
And, in the words of an unnamed friend:

I'll leave you with that bit of information
