The doctor came back in
Do - ok so we want to take draw blood from The baby to make sure nothing is wrong with it because we are seeing some signs of an infection but just make sure we want to do it, now we can't do I so soon we have to wait till you are 4 months pregnant and you are barely 2
Y - wait infection what do you mean?
Do - bacterial vaginosis it is a common infection and is easily treated but we don't want to treat the baby if we dont know for sure it has the infection.
A - what happens to the baby?
Do - well we insert a long needle through y/n's stomach and get blood usually from the umbilical cord. But I have to warn you that it could be risky
A - how risky?
Do - well the baby could get an infection where the needle was inserted, its heart rate can speed up and the rarest one death
Y - death?
Do - but that is why you would stay in the hospital for about 2 days so we can keep an eye on the baby.
A - is that it?
Do - yes and you guys are free to go and this will count as your check up this month
A - ok thank you
The doctor left and I was laying there shocked as to what just happened. Me and alex didn't talk I just grabbed my stuff and we left. The truck was filled with silence until alex spoke.
A - hey everything is gonna be ok *puts hand on your thigh*
Y - *nods* *tears up*
A - they said they dont know if it is an infection for sure
Y - I'm not scared for that its the blood test what if we do it and turns out nothing is wrong with the baby but it dies
A - *stays quiet*
Alex continues to drive home. We get there and I quickly get down and go inside ignoring ottie. I went up to my room and closed the door but ottie managed to get in. I slid down the door and started bawling my eyes out.
O - *tries to lick you*
Y - *cries* ottie stop
O - *tries to play*
Y - *pushes ottie away* ottie go away please
O - *tries to lick you again*
Y - OTTIE STOP *cries*
Alex opened the other door (she has double doors) and saw ottie was all over me so he grabbed ottie and took him out of my room. Alex came and sat next to me and put his arm around me.
