Kiyotaka sat on top of the closed toilet lid. Mondo unbuttoned his shirt to reveal darkening marks on his sides.

Mondo had recently found out that dark marks on the body weren't only caused by lack of sleep, but also because of being harmed.

He wrapped the bandage around Kiyotaka's waist, hiding the darkening marks. That was when Mondo remembered something.

His lavender eyes snapped towards Kiyotaka's wrist. He quickly grasped it and inspected it, holding his wrist with a tight grip but not tight enough to hurt him. The dark blue mark had turned to a greenish colour.

He looked up to meet Kiyotaka's eyes, "Who did this?" he asked.

"Oh erm…" he stared at Mondo nervously, "It's just- well…" he nervously rambled out, "It- it happened days ago so you don't need to worry about it…"

Mondo stared silently at Kiyotaka, waiting for an actual answer. His eyes slowly turned red.

Kiyotaka tried to pull his hand away but Mondo's grip prevented him from doing so.

"Who?" Mondo asked once again. The whirring became louder.

"Mondo! I have college today! I need to prepare myself," he avoided the subject.

It took a minute of struggling before he could release his arm from Mondo's grip.

Kiyotaka stood up "Could you get out of the bathroom, please? I need to use the shower," he ordered. Mondo's face contorted into a scowl but he complied anyway.

-

Kiyotaka was cooking breakfast after he had showered and changed his clothes. Mondo sat at the dining table quietly. His finger was tracing the tiny scratches on the wooden table.

Mondo perked up at the sound of a plate being placed on the table. There was a plate of omelette and rice there. Mondo noticed that there were two forks and one spoon on it.

Kiyotaka stabbed the omelette with one of the forks to cut a small piece from it and held it out towards Mondo.

“I don’t need to eat food,” Mondo said.

“Yes, I am aware of that. I just thought that you would like to try some again since it was confirmed that you have a working tongue,” Kiyotaka replied.

Mondo looked at the food stuck onto the fork. He snatched the fork from Kiyotaka’s grip. Kiyotaka smiled at him and started eating.

Mondo stared at it before poking it with his tongue. It tasted.. probably what people would call “salty”.

Kiyotaka abruptly stood up while carrying his now empty plate. Mondo’s eyes followed him as he washed the plate on the sink. After a while, he turned the water off and marched towards the door while carrying his bag.

Before he could get outside, Mondo quickly ran over to the door and blocked it with his body. Kiyotaka raised an eyebrow.

"Where are ya going?" Mondo asked.

"I told you, I have college today," he answered.

"What if ya get hurt again?" Mondo gestured to Kiyotaka's wrist.

"Don't worry, I won't get hu- mfh!" Mondo shoved the piece of omelette that was on the fork he was holding into Kiyotaka's mouth. He instinctively chewed it.

“I’ll come with,” Mondo stated.

Kiyotaka swallowed before answering, “I don’t think you should-”

“I’ll come with,” he repeated.

"But I won't be allowed to let you in the buildi-"

"I'll come with," he repeated once again.

Kiyotaka sigh. Arguing with Mondo will always be useless in changing the stubborn android’s mind.

"Okay," he said, exasperated.

-

They stood in front of the gates of the campus.

"As i told you before, I won't be allowed to enter the building since you're not a student," Kiyotaka told Mondo.

He fished for his house key from his pocket and gave it to Mondo, "You can just go back home since I doubt that you would want to stand here for hours."

Mondo accepted the keys. Kiyotaka quickly speed walked past the gates to avoid being "late" even though it was pretty early in the morning.

Once he was out of sight, Mondo patted his clothes to look for a pocket on his pants. After he had found it, he kept the keys inside there.

He looked around and stared at the building. It was really big. Bigger than other buildings Mondo had seen.

He looked around for about a minute until something caught his eye. A vending machine across the street.

-

Kiyotaka walked outside the building while reading the notepad in his hands. He flipped through the pages and made sure he hadn't missed any notes about homework and such.

He looked up and was genuinely surprised that Mondo actually waited for him outside the campus. He had something in his mouth. Was he eating a lollipop?

"Mondo! Have you been waiting here for hours?' Kiyotaka asked once he got closer to him.

Mondo didn't answer but instead gave Kiyotaka a red coloured lollipop from his jacket pocket. He took it from Mondo's hand and stared at it.

"Where did you get this?" He asked again.

"I found it," Mondo answered.

Mondo's answer was pretty vague. He was about to ask Mondo to elaborate on his answer but he realised something.

"Your battery must be quite low after waiting here for hours!" he whisper-yelled because of the presence of other people around them. "We should get home quick so you can charge," he pulled Mondo's wrist and walked home with him.

Little did he know, there was a broken vending machine a few feet away from them.
