Kiyotaka was having a breakdown about.. multiple things.

One of the things was about how he struggled to convince himself that he didn't kill Mondo. He was worried that the damage he did to the android made him unable to turn back on again.

Of course, Kiyotaka could just turn him back on to reassure himself that the android was still okay. In fact, he's tempted to do so.

But at the same time, he was scared. He feared that Mondo would still proceed to imprison Kiyotaka against his will or hurt him. He knew that Mondo was capable of-

Kiyotaka hissed as he gripped harshly at his bandaged hand.

He never liked pain but if it prevented his mind from running wild then so be it. He really needed to study without getting distracted.

He wiped away the teardrops on his notebook. They left a tiny crease on the paper.

He rubbed his forehead with one hand while groaning, the other hand clenched into a fist. He was completely unable to focus.

Bzzt Bzzt!

Kiyotaka perked up at the sound of his phone. Who was it? He rarely got messages. He eagerly turned it on to check the message-

Oh, it was just a message from another student asking him if he was done with the group assignment he was forced to do all alone.

Kiyotaka groaned into his hand and ignored the message. Surprisingly, he was not in the mood for projects. How pathetic he was for not being able to handle a single assignment.

God, his mind was such a mess. His brain suddenly felt the need to process and recall everything that happened. Whether it's from years ago, months ago, or…

a moment ago.

Bzzt Bzzt!

He gritted his teeth, "Can't they just shut up?!-" his anger immediately died down once he saw the message.

Daiya: Yo, u okay?
Daiya: Ur roommate aint being dangerous towards you or anything right
Daiya: Want me to call the cops?

He quickly typed out his reply.

Kiyotaka: No need to! We just have a bit of an argument, that's all.

Daiya: Alright. Hope u guys'll talk it out
Daiya: If anything goes wrong, feel free to come over and stay until things calm down

Kiyotaka: I appreciate the offer and your concern. But there's no need to worry about me.

He turned off his phone.

Talk things out..? Would Mondo even listen to him?

What if Mondo ended up hating him once he turned him back on? And what if he ended up hurting Kiyotaka again?

But…

.

Kiyotaka and his father hadn't talked to each other for about 3 days. Whenever they were together, the room would be filled with tense silence.

The young boy feared that his father would snap at him again if he approached him. He genuinely thought that his father now hated him. That was why when his father entered his room after knocking a few times, he expected him to announce that he was going to be disowned or something of the sort.

But to his surprise, that wasn't what his father did.

"Kiyotaka."

He flinched a bit before turning towards his father who was standing in the doorway.

"Yes?"

"Can you come over here?"

Confused, he stood up and walked over to where Takaaki was standing. Suddenly, he was engulfed in a hug.

"Father?-"

"God, Kiyotaka I'm so so sorry for snapping at you," his embrace tightened, "Whatever bad things I said about you- it's not true. I was just- I had a bad day and I was so mad about different things. I couldn't help but snap. You- you didn't deserve that."

Kiyotaka returned the hug, "I'm sorry too." 'I shouldn't have been so annoying', he wanted to add.

The following day continued normally. Kiyotaka was glad that the tension was gone but the guilt he had about the situation still lingered.

~

.

...If they don't talk soon then the problem will never be resolved.

Even though Mondo would hate him, he should still apologize. How Mondo acted was his fault- how he caused the deaths of multiple people was his fault.

He wiped away his tears.

He needed to apologize to Mondo. He shouldn't be scared if Mondo would hurt him or not. He deserved it if he got hurt.

He stood up and walked to the kitchen, where Mondo's unmoving body was laying on the ground. Kiyotaka felt himself gulp at the sight.

Pulling up Mondo's jacket and shirt, he opened the compartment on his back and flicked the switch.

Why wasn't he turning on? Kiyotaka felt himself panic.

His battery was probably dead. Kiyotaka tried to reassure himself and dragged the android to the living room where the charging cable was.

Once he connected the charging cable, he sat in front of him on the floor as he waited until Mondo was awake once again.

About half an hour passed and Mondo showed no signs of moving. Kiyotaka felt himself tearing up.

"Mondo, please..." he pleaded.

There was no response.

He let out a sob. As he wiped his tears, he heard the sound of whirring. It gradually got louder and louder until-

There was a familiar hand gently placed on his thigh.
