Chapter 11 Bonus Scene

Kiyotaka asked Mondo who was on the living room floor, exploring the internet on his laptop as usual, "Mondo, are you waterproof?"

Mondo averted his attention towards Kiyotaka, "Yes."

"Great, come to the bathroom with me," he ordered.

Mondo closed the laptop and set it down on the floor. He stood up, following Kiyotaka into the bathroom.

Once he entered the room, Kiyotaka gave him a toothbrush. Confused, Mondo tilted his head.

"Since you ate a candy this afternoon I think it would be best for you to brush your teeth," Kiyotaka said while standing in front of the large mirror above the sink.

Mondo stood in front of the mirror next to Kiyotaka, looking at his own reflection, "Why?"

"I don't want your mouth to get.. dirty from the candy. I don't want ants to start living in your mouth…" Kiyotaka shuddered at the thought.

Kiyotaka piped up, "Brushing your teeth is easy! First, add toothpaste on your toothbrush," he gripped a tube and added toothpaste on the toothbrush.

"Second, you brush your teeth and then you rinse your mouth after spitting out the residue in your mouth," Kiyotaka started brushing his teeth while Mondo watched the smaller man's reflection on the mirror.

He spat out what was in his mouth into the sink. He grabbed a cup and filled it with water. He took a sip of the water and after a minute, he spat it out.

"See? Now you try!" Kiyotaka gave Mondo a toothy grin. He stepped aside so that Mondo could use the sink.

Mondo followed the steps Kiyotaka had mentioned. Add the toothpaste, brush his teeth and then rinse his mouth.

"Could you show me your mouth?" Kiyotaka asked.

Mondo turned to him and leaned down a bit. He opened his mouth wide open.

Kiyotaka stood on his tippy toes while holding Mondo's cheeks. He stared at his mouth for a while before saying, "I think you missed a spot. Hold on."

He grabbed Mondo's toothbrush from his hand and brushed his molars.

After he was done, he instructed, "Now rinse your mouth again," he gave Mondo the cup of water and Mondo did so.

Kiyotaka gave Mondo a proud smile. The android felt that his whirring got louder and his own body became warmer.

"Since we're done here I'm going back to my room to study-" he was about to walk outside the bathroom but he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't study. It's past curfew," Mondo told him.

Kiyotaka raised an eyebrow, "..I don't have curfew."

"Your curfew is 10 pm. Go to sleep now."

"I have to study. There's a test tomorrow and I have to review all the materials I need to study again so that I- Mondo, not again!" Kiyotaka complained when Mondo picked him up and carried him to his room.

Kiyotaka didn't exactly hate being carried around like this. He was just annoyed by Mondo's stubbornness and how he would just pick him up without listening to what Kiyotaka had to say.

Mondo gently placed him on the bed and draped the blanket over him.

Kiyotaka expected him to stand there, watching him fall asleep. Which was why he was surprised when Mondo slipped under the blanket with him and hugged his torso so that his back was against Mondo's chest.

"What are you doing?" Kiyotaka asked.

"Physical contact helps humans fall asleep," Mondo answered.

Kiyotaka hummed. He wasn't wrong. The soft whirring against his back was comforting along with the (surprisingly) warm arms around his torso. 

His eyes felt heavier and he slowly fell asleep. It was the first time in a while that he had a nice dream other than the usual nightmares or not having a dream at all.
