They were in the living room, near Mondo's charging space after Chihiro had come back from grabbing his own laptop. The shorter boy set things up by connecting Mondo with his laptop and plugged in the android's charger (to prevent him from shutting down in the middle of rewriting his codes).

Kiyotaka on the other hand, nervously stood over them. "I'm.. I'm sorry for troubling you, Chihiro."

"It's okay, Taka," Chihiro said while still focused on setting things up, "I'm the one who offered my help."

"Well- I'm just worried that you might get hurt again," Kiyotaka muttered.

Chihiro noticed how Mondo's eyes turned blue.

"I have everything under control, Taka. Don't worry."

Everything was black once again.

Mondo was alone, surrounded by binaries and codes that didn't make sense to him.

But.. he wasn't alone. He felt another presence.

Mondo looked around.

His eyes landed on the bright green figure in the distance, approaching him.

"Cheeri- Chihiro, what are you doing here?"

The Chihiro-lookalike stood in front of him, looking up. He waved, "Hello! I'm Alter Ego. An AI made by Chihiro Fujisaki. I'm here to accompany you so that you don't lash out in the middle of the coding."

Mondo scoffed, "Of fuckin' course they'd be scared…"

Alter Ego tilted his head. "What's wrong? You seem angry and sad," he asked.

"It's nothin'..." Mondo looked away.

Alter Ego circled Mondo to face him, "If it's making you upset then it must be something."

Mondo gritted his teeth, "Fuck- I'm just… scared."

"Scared of what?"

"That.. Taka's gonna get rid of me…"

Alter Ego pouted, "Why would you assume that? Taka loves you, doesn't he?"

"Maybe… Maybe he used to… But I keep hurting him and I can't control my fuckin' self." Mondo gritted his teeth. "I bet he hates me now… It's fer' the best if he got rid of me, anyways."

Alter Ego hummed, "You're not a mind reader."

"What?" Mondo furrowed his brows.

"I've checked your features. You don't have the ability to read minds."

"The hell are you talking about?"

"You shouldn't be assuming that he hates you... Just because you dislike yourself doesn't mean he dislikes you too."

Mondo scowled, "It's fuckin' obvious, alright?! He's scared of me because I keep scaring and hurting him! He should hate me!"

"I don't think you get to decide how Kiyotaka feels about you."

"I'm not trying to decide for shit!-"

"You and Kiyotaka should talk…"

Mondo looked down, "..What is there to talk about?"

"About how you feel?"

Mondo gritted his teeth, "But I'm.. scared. I don't know why."
