Dedication to idgafaboutanything because she is really nice and she's told me of how I've helped her which is weird to hear because it's odd to think that my writing could help someone.
I guess I just wanted to give her a dedication because of how nice it was to hear.
Anyway, proceed to read. Hope you like it.
Luke's POV
Sitting at the restaurant with my family, I tried acting happy and normal but I was finding it difficult. The uneasy feeling had returned and I didn't know why, something felt off and I didn't even have the comfort of having Ashton here with me to ease me.
"Luke, honey, are you alright?" My mum whispered to me as my family chatted.
"Yeah." Was all I said to her, smiling to try and make her believe me.
"Is this about your nightmares?" She asked quietly, obviously knowing what was really up.
"How'd you know?"
"Ashton told me about you having one this morning but you wouldn't tell him what it was about."
"It was pretty nasty." I said and she nodded her head before giving the side of my head a kiss.
"You're safe you know honey? He can't hurt you." My mum reassured me and I just nodded, looking down at my lap.
"I know, I just can't shake that uneasy feeling I have, like it feels as though someone is watching me." I admitted quietly to my mum, she shot me a sympathetic smile.
"How long have you had that feeling?" My mum sounded concerned, which was understandable.
"Since the other day, it hasn't really gone away since but I'm sure it's just my imagination." I tried laughing it off but my mum didn't respond like that, she was obviously worried about my mental state right now.
"I'm worried about you, Luke, you aren't ok and I'm worried about when you go to uni."
"Mum, please don't worry about me." I begged, feeling bad I was causing her worry or stress. She didn't deserve that after putting up with me through everything.
"It's my job to worry about you, you're my son."
"I know mum but after everything you've been through with me, you shouldn't still have to worry about me."
"I love you, Luke, just know that. You can come to me whenever you need to, don't let whatever is wrong just be with you for days when I'm here. I'll do my best to help you."
"I know and thank you." I said before hugging her. I really did appreciate her and I did want her to know that. She was an amazing mum, she's been with me through so much and so that's why I felt so bad for making her worry about me. She didn't deserve it.
After my mum pulled away, she sent me a warm smile before returning to a conversation with my auntie whilst I just sat in silence, watching my family chat. It was good to see them all together and happy, they hadn't seen me in a while either and I really did like seeing them. I had missed them.
However, I wished Ashton could be here with me though, it would have made me feel a lot better. I felt at ease with Ashton around, he made me feel safe and I just wanted him to be around since now my family were kind of blanking me.
My dad's voice startled me from my trance like state, "Are you ok, Luke?" He asked.
"Y-yeah." I didn't sound sure.
"I overheard you talking to your mum and if it makes you feel better, you can get home to Ashton soon because he's going to be waiting at ours for you." My dad smiled, trying to make me feel better.
"Thanks." Was all I said but I smiled at my dad.
"We'll get you home soon, don't worry ok?"
"Yeah, thanks dad." I said and that was the last thing spoken between my parents and I for the rest of the meal.
For the majority of the rest of the meal, I spoke to my cousins and I caught up with their lives and all that. They seemed interested in learning more about Ashton and talking about him really lifted my spirits, although they kept teasing me when I blushed.
At least they thought we were cute, especially so when I showed them the necklace Ashton had given me just this morning.
They told me they'd come round to meet him soon, before we headed off to college, and I really didn't mind. Ashton hadn't met a lot of members of my family so it was great to see that my family wanted to meet him.
-----
Arriving back at home after the meal, Ashton was stood by the door waiting for me and he immediately enveloped me into a hug which was nice. My parents just smiled at us before wandering off into the kitchen.
"I've missed you." I admitted to him, not caring that I sounded kind of clingy.
"It was only a few hours." He laughed.
"Yeah, I couldn't get rid of that being watched feeling again and you always make me feel safer so I missed you not being there."
"Oh, Luke." Ashton sighed as he kissed my forehead. "Are you alright? Like, really? Because we don't have to go out tonight if you're still feeling off, I want you to have a good time and I don't want you feeling stressed about being out."
"I'll be fine, I want to go; I just feel better when you're with me." I blushed at saying that, feeling a little embarrassed at saying that twice.
"Well, I'll be with you all night." Ashton smiled.
"I know and thank you." I smiled back before kissing him. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, baby."
