A poppy's slender stem
On top lies a red gem
Petals like a butterfly
Poppy reaching for the sky
Poppy dreams at midnight
Dreams spark and ignite
Poppy lullabies
River rushes by
Go to sleep child
Poppy spells mild
Poppy out of the blue
Poppy petals flew
In World War One
In wind poppies swung
Blood red poppy fields
Of blood stained shields
Poppies by the River Lethe trailing into Hades where dead and lost souls drink to forget their life's pain, poppies like a red petal cup red as poisonous lipstick, poppies on graves for a symbol of remembrance though they also symbolize amnesia and lethologica...
