Her words were poison
Like arrowS they pierced his heart
He let her win their fights
Even though he knew what it took
For him to cut the last thread
Between them
She judged himHer words cut him into pieces
When all he wanted
Was approval
She always had the best aim in the army
And the best aim out of it too
And he ponderedIf he left this house
Would it be because
He was letting her go
Or he was leaving her behind
No one knew of the demonsThat strangled him inside
Even she didn't know of his past
For she was too busy
Drowning because she
Tried too hard not to drown
Drowning in the future
So caught up in it
As if the present were the past
And if so he was only history to her
And sometimes he felt pain
When he realized
That she had become one of his demons
