Maria Potter walks happily through the common room, seeing her brother and his friends sat around the fire, looking rather glum.
"What up?" Maria asks as she sits next to Peter, the boy looking at her before looking at Remus again.

"The ceiling." Remus snaps and Maria is taken aback by the usually kind and rational boy being so aggressive. Her eyebrows furrow as she stares at him for a few seconds before shooting Sirius a questioning glance.

The raven haired boy shrugs, as if saying 'don't ask me' and Maria looks between them sceptically before rolling her eyes.

"Anyway, I was wondering if you could have a look at my potions essay, since you all somehow passed with good grades—"

"Not now, Maria." Remus snaps and Maria opens her mouth but closes it with a look of sadness flashing across her face as Remus' eyes widen.

"No—Maria I didn't. . ." But Maria had already turned around and rushed out of the portrait hole. Remus groans and buries his face in his hands, running them shakily through his hair.

Maria feels a mix of sadness and anger as she hurries through the halls of Hogwarts, wanting to yell at the boy and cry at the same time. Remus has always been so sweet and understanding towards the youngest Potter but sometimes he can be a real dick.

It's like he gets his period, he's so lovely and then once a month or two he just goes really grouchy and snaps at everyone. Maria's never thought much of it before, but now after he interrupted her she's determined to figure out what the hell os going on.
She doesn't like when she feels like she's annoying someone, maybe that's why she left and didn't give him a piece of her mind for being so blatantly rude to her after she was just asking for help with some homework.

So, the brunette goes to the thing that anyone else would in a situation like this one.

Lily Evans.

As the girl walks through the doors of the library she accidentally trips over her own feet, stumbling and banging into a cupboard, making Madam Pince hiss a 'shh' at her. Maria smiles apologetically, unaware of the certain grey eyes watching her in awe.

She spots Lily reading a book whilst taking notes alone on a small circular table and walks over, pulling up a chair and smiling when she sits down.

"Maria! Wow, this is not the place I would assume you'd be." Lily smiles brightly in surprise and Maria shrugs.
"Well, I knew you'd be here." The brunette states and Lily closes her book, giving Maria her full attention.

"What do you need?" Lily asks and Maria sighs.

"Okay, have you ever noticed Remus acting off every once and a while." Maria asks and Lily pauses to think for a moment.
