Silver Lining- a metaphor that is often used for optimism, encouragement or hope. Usually means that every bad/negative situation has something good/positive in it- which is the silver lining. Or the 'bright side' to a bad situation.
Similar to how a plant dies, it grows back again or lets the wind carry its seeds, so its offspring can grow and spread.
Every cloud has silver lining.
