I woke up early and slowly got out of bed. Today is Mina's 20th birthday. She hasn't been feeling good so I decided to plan her a day full of fun and relaxation. I went downstairs to start preparing her breakfast. I made her a spicy curry with a side of salad. I place the food on a tray and went upstairs again. I carefully opened the door trying not to spill anything. I entered and Mina was already up.
She went across the room to open up the blinds. "What you got there Gintoki?" I was hesitant to say it was for her. "It's for me. I'm a bit embarrassed eating alone." She took the tray and placed it on the nightstand. "I'm sorry about your birthday. I was..." I interpreted her. "You were very busy. I know." "I promise next year we can..." I sighed and sat on the bed. "Mina don't promise me anything if you can't do it." I took the tray back and began eating it.
"Gintoki if you need me I'll be in my office." She got dressed and left the room. I throw the table with the food across the room. Damn it! I felt like crying. My eyes burning trying to hold back my tears. My heart crumbling down. I feel so alone again. I'm just in the way. I picked up everything I broke. I cleaned the floor making sure every bit of rice and curry was picked up. I fixed myself up and went to Mina's office. I opened the door about an inch and saw Han.
Mina was paying attention. The conservation was about adding more knights to guard the gates. "I need to find a new captain for Gintoki's team." "Why doesn't King Gintoki keep his job?" "I don't think Gintoki can manage to be both King and Captain. He's going to be very busy and I don't want him to stress out." Han nodded and gathered his maps and books. "Leaving so soon? I was enjoying your company, Captain Han." Mina's face went from happy to upset.
