3 years ago (this is before soma and y/n became friends)
"Soma, do you like fireworks?" I ask Soma, picking at my food. We're having dinner but I'm too nervous to eat.
I'm going to ask Soma to watch the fireworks with me next week. I notice Tamako smile at me teasingly.
"Yeah." He replies shortly, sending me a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, that's nice." I gulf down some food, ignoring his eye contact.
I chickened out. I pick up my glass, wanting to wash down the food with water.
"Why? Do you want to watch them together?" As soon as the water comes down my throat, it comes back up, all over the table. I see everyone look at me in horror and I just smile, wiping up the mess I made.
"You always spit things out," Soma says, giving me a disgusted look. I stick out my tongue at him and hear Joichiro laugh.
"You guys should go together, Soma. Y/N. We can all go together." Tamako smiles, nudging me.
"Well, I think that's a nice idea," I say, looking at Soma from the corner of my eye. He looks over at me and I smile, he looks away.
"Yeah, we can barbecue," Joichiro adds and I direct my smile to him.
"No squid." Tamako and I say in unison. We look at each other and laugh.
We all agree, but Soma doesn't say anything. We're all looking at him and he looks up with an eye roll.
"Okay, sure." Soma looks directly at me. I swallow down my food hard. "Let's watch the fireworks, Y/N."
He turns away and I feel myself smile widely. He actually agreed. Well, maybe only because of his parents and barbecue.. but I'll take it!
I get up from my seat and walk over to him, putting my arms around him tight. "YAY!" I exclaim. He doesn't move surprisingly.
"You're going to cut off my circulation. Y/N." He said.
"Sorry, I got excited!"

Screams came from everyone as these people pulled a cloth off the announcement board—one side with a bold A and a bold B on the other side. Numerous names are below them. I sighed.
