Summary: Moving around to different high schools is tough, but it's a lot easier with someone who knows exactly what you're going through.

I don't write for musical boys a whole lot but mm JD *insert fuckboy emoji*

I step into the cafeteria, looking around. Yet another new school. I barely spent a month at the last one. But according to my dad, we're staying for a while.

"Watch it!" Someone snaps as I run into their back. I step away, letting them leave. Are all the people at this school selfish assholes? I sigh, continuing my journey through the cafeteria. My eyes instantly hone in on some jock's outstretched leg, ready to trip me with their foot. I stop.

"Really?" I ask flatly. He looks around at his friends, who smile back stupidly. I scoff. "Gathering all your brain power? Careful, you're gonna get a fever doing that much thinking." The entire table drops their smiles. I wave at them. "I'll be on my way."

"What's your name, skank?" I smile.

"That's none of your business." He shares a laugh with his table. I roll my eyes. "Just let me pass, alright?"

"Not so fast." I sigh. "Hey, Ram." One of the other jocks perks up.

"Yeah?"

"Hold her arms." I smirk.

"That escalated quickly. Oh, well." I roll up my sleeves as the second guy, Ram, hurries behind me. I smash my elbow into his face as I draw back my fist to punch his buddy. The table responds in surprise as I knock the first guy to the ground.

"Come on, Kurt! She's just a girl!" Someone whoops. I smile sweetly.

"Yeah, Kurt. I'm just a girl," I repeat innocently, a hand on my hip. He stands up, swinging at me. I lean back. "You missed."

"Ram!" Kurt barks. Ram grabs my arms from behind and holds me steady. I jerk my arms away.

"Oh, don't touch me," I say boredly. I turn and quickly grab his collar, smashing him into the table. Behind me, I hear a blow being delivered to Kurt. Arms loop under mine before I can hit Ram again. I struggle against them. "What the hell?" I demand.

"You don't wanna deal with these two, trust me," a cool, smooth voice says over my shoulder.

"I was dealing with them just fine!" I snap. The guy drags me away. "Let me go! I don't need a knight in shining armour with a fucking savior complex, get lost!"

"Y/n, calm down. I'm just making sure you don't waste your time." I blink. How does he know my name? I turn to look at him, a flicker of recognition crossing my mind.

"... JD?" He gives me a dry smile, letting go of my arms.

"Been a few years, huh?" I glance back at the jocks' table, where they give us dirty looks.

"Ew." He smirks.

"Yeah. I beat them up on my first day. I know you could do the same, but getting detention on your first day isn't ideal, huh?" I roll my eyes. Jason Dean and I are both kids who move around. We've even been to two of the same schools together. This is the third time we're in the same one. He sits down at an empty table. I join him.

"Who knew we'd be back together again?" He smiles.

"Not me." Last I saw him, he was just barely taller than me, with a slight build. Hate to say it, but the years have been extremely generous to him. I feel a light blush settle on my face as his intense, focused eyes examine me.
