Having skipped Slughorn's Christmas do because she was 'suddenly quite ill', Maria has yet to face Regulus once they return to school. Now, however, Maria rolls out of bed and tumbled onto the wooden floor with a loud thud and a groan, probably waking the four marauders from their hung over slumbers, but who cares? She grumbles as she struggles to untangle from the sheets.
Today, Lily Evans is taking them all to muggle London — somewhere James, Peter, Sirius and Maria have never been before, Remus had only been a few times with his mother, but other than that had not been either — and she's apparently taking them to do fun muggle things.

James had scoffed and responded with the fact that muggle activities are boring compared to the things wizards have up their sleeves. Maria is actually quite excited to be going out and doing muggle things, since she grew up with only house elves and magical people waving their wands whenever an issue occurred, it would be nice to see how they do things in person.

The girl yawns as she stumbles out of her bedroom and clashes with a sleepy Remus Lupin who mumbles a tired 'morning' as the two continue down the stairs.

Screaming

The duo's screams flood the home as they freak out at the sight of a stag and a black dog in the living room of the Potter mansion, Peter slouched on the sofa with a cup of steaming tea in his hand, laughing as the two's screams continue until they realise.

"Merlin—you twat!" Maria breathes, slapping her brother's stag leg and the black dog barks at her, chasing it's tail. "What?" Sirius trots over to her and jumps up at her, knocking her onto the floor with a 'umph' and she rolls her eyes and scratches behind the dog's ears affectionately.

Sirius suddenly changes back to that she's running her fingers through his hair and she makes a disgusted sound and shoves his head away from her.

"I like you better when you're a dog." Maria mumbles as she sits on the armchair near the window where her owl — Benny — suddenly swoops into the living room and onto her shoulder, gently nipping her ear to get her attention.

Maria grins at the bird that has two letters in his beak, reaching over into a small tin on a side table and handing the bird a treat, Benny hoots in thanks and flies off, probably out into the gardens.

Maria looks at the letters and sees her mother's familiar handwriting along with some neat handwriting that she's also quite familiar with. She gasps silently and shoves the letter down her top before sighing and ripping open the letter from her and James' parents.

Dear James and Maria,

It's us, you know, the people that raised you. Anyways, we're sorry we didn't write sooner, we've been ever so busy with a new mission — a wizard by the name of Sebastian Carling, who murdered  12 muggles in one night.
We think we're close to finding him, won't tell you where invade this letter lands in dangerous hands.
