CHAPTER 37

Kinain ako ng kaba habang naghahanda ng sarili. I went to the hospital earlier to visit daddy at umuwi rin kaagad. I'm feeling nervous of what might happen later.

Tita told me to tell everything to Zach and that's what I'm going to do. It's hard for me but I'll try my best to express what I want to say later. I just hope I will do my best.

I looked at Kalina who's sleeping peacefully in bed. I witnessed her even breathing. I went closer to her and caressed her hair. I'll do this for my daughter. This is for her, not for me.

She's my number one priority.

Iniwan ko si Kalina doon, she was tired because she went out with Rainier earlier. I kept on biting my lips while I'm on my way to Skies Borough. I was looking at the city lights and closed my eyes afterwards.

When I got there, dumiretso ako sa loob at nagpa-reseve ng place which was located on the terrace so I could see the skyscrapers. I was smiling while looking at the beautiful scenery in front of me. I was in deep oblivion when I heard a cracked.

I unconsciously looked in front of me and gasped when I saw him looking at me intently, as if he was observing my expression.

I cleared my throat and composed myself. His eyebrows went up and sat on the chair in front of me. When I didn't even make a move, he then called the waiter and ordered.

"So..what are we going to talk?" He asked me. I cleared my throat because it went dry.

"Can we.. wait for the food first?" I have to prepare myself first.

"Okay," he glanced at the counter and on me afterwards. "How long have you been waiting for me?"

"More than 10 minutes.."

He nodded and looked at the full view skyscraper. "I'm sorry."

I went speechless. He looked at me and shrugged. "I attended a client first."

"Ayos lang."

Hindi nagtagal ay dumating na ang order namin. I always threw glances on him from time to time. I unconsciously smile when I remember Kalina on him. Ganyan kasi si Kalina kumain.

"Soo?

I blinked and looked at my food. My face flushed because I'm sure he saw me staring amusedly at him. I heard him clear his throat.

"I'm sorry," I said. I just feel na sisimulan ko sa paghingi ng tawad sa mga kasalanang nagawa ko. "I'm sorry for what I did."

"Apology accepted."

I looked at him, my jaw dropped and my eyes widened. I can't believe this.

"It's been years. I already accepted what happened. Even though I'll throw a grudge on you, you can't bring back my father."

Bigla akong nag baba ng tingin. I feel so small. Nanliit ako bigla sa sarili ko. I want to say sorry more until I am satisfied. I know that sorry is not enough.

But it's been years, like what he said, ilang taon na ang nakalipas. But I can't still believe he'll forgive me. All of those names he called me was stocked in my mind.

"Yan lang ba ang gusto mong sabihin?"

Bigla akong kinabahan ng malakas. My heart skipped and my throat went dry. My trembling hands were on my lap, squeezing each other.
