We awaited further instruction, Tengen really letting his status get to his head as he barked orders at us.
"Alright... I'm a god, you guys are trash! First, get that into your heads! I mean really drill it in there! If I say be an otter penguin, you act like an otter penguin! If I say roll like a tigerdillo, you roll like a tigerdillo, got it?!"
I stare in disbelief.
This man is insane! I knew he liked being flashy since I first saw him at the trial, but this is overkill!
"I'll say it again! I am a GOD!"
He proceeded to smirk and pose in front of us, Zenitsu and I just sharing a look of pure disbelief.
He's really messed up!
Suddenly, Tanjiro threw his hand up, his question sounding truly genuine.
"What exactly are you god of?"
And he's an idiot...
Tengen liked this question.
"Good question! You've got promise!"
This mission is hopeless.
He isn't helping with his answer, either!
"I'm the god of glam and flash... The god of Festivals!"
I feel the need to earthbend myself into a hole if I knew how. This is growing dumber by the sentence.
Inosuke spoke up.
"I'm the god of the mountain. Greetings, god of festivals."
We stare at him, and I'm completely dumbfounded.
EVEN TENGEN IS SURPRISED, FOR SPIRITS' SAKE!
"What're you talking about? You're weird."
HE'S WEIRD?? HE'S ACTING JUST LIKE YOU!
I sigh and bury my head in my hands in embarrassment. I'm not even ashamed of myself, I'm ashamed my friends can be so dense.
"Anyways, along the way to the Hanamachi, there's a wisteria house. We'll prepare there."
He turned on his heel, beginning to walk.
"Follow me."
In an instant, he vanished, and I notice him way up ahead.
"Wha-! Hey, he's fast!"
"Behold the power of the festival god!"
Inosuke shouted, Tanjiro smiling along.
"Naw, he's just the Hashira Tengen Uzui."
I grab them both and run.
"Quit chatting! We need to catch up!"
At one point we got too slow, so I picked up Zenitsu, who ran the slowest and brought him into the air, gliding above the others at their pace. He screamed so loud my eardrums nearly burst, of course, but it made our trip more efficient as we caught up, reaching the wisteria home by late afternoon.
