1st Person POV

I sat in the little cave with Nezuko, watching with confusion as she digs herself a literal hole, just looking up at me with an innocent expression.

Tanjiro left to try and find something we could bring Nezuko in, seeing as we had quite a bit of ground to cover, and just going at night wouldn't be the most efficient way, while I chose to stay and watch over Nezuko.

Out of nowhere, I suddenly blurt out a question I had for a while.
"Hey, Nezuko?"

She slightly turns her head in my direction, her eyes still locked somewhere else as she let out a "hmph".

"Do you... still know who I am?"

Her head turns to me in an instant, and she stares at me intently for a while, making me nervous.

She points her finger at me, her hand reaching out to tug at my robe, muffled sounds coming from her.

"You... Remember sewing this with me?"

Her pulling stops and she looks back at me, only nodding once as I smile, letting out a small satisfied hum.

"I'm glad you didn't forget me."

I must've fallen asleep, because I awoke to Tanjiro calling out Nezuko's name.
I waved to him, smiling.

"She's okay! Just kind of... dug herself a hole."
I chuckle.

Almost on cue, Nezuko pops her head above ground, growling at the outside. Poor girl must really hate the sun.

"What did you get?"
I ask and exit the cave, smiling at Nezuko as I do so.

"I got this broken basket from a farmer, and some straw and bamboo to try and fix it."

"Ah, that's great! Mind if I help?"

"Not at all!"

We both smile and get to work, Tanjiro splitting the bamboo while I do most of the weaving.

He helps me out as well, and soon enough we have a strong and sun-proof Nezuko basket!

Our only problem was...

"Nezuko? Do you think you can fit in here? I wanna try moving during the day too, but now I can carry you, ok?"

How would we fit Nezuko into the basket?

"Can you fit? In here? Basket."
Tanjiro repeated his questions, slower and more easily digestible for Nezuko.

"I don't think-"
Before I can finish my sentence, Nezuko climbs out from her hole and puts her head into the basket, using her legs to push herself forward.

"...She's just... laying there..."

Both me and Tanjiro are a little confused, looking down at Nezuko, who didn't really seem to care as she barely moved a muscle.
