Chapter 13

Marissa's pov

"Oh my god you're Demi.." I mumbled and she smiled
"I am, you're Marissa. I've heard a lot about you" she walked over and lightly hugged me
"How are you feeling?" She asked me and I just sat there.
"Nick.. This is Demi Lovato." I whispered and they both laughed
"You didn't act this way when we met." He laughed more
"Because I was cool back then. Now.. Now I have her tattoo on my wrists. And her quote on my left shoulder blade
"And mine on your right" he added
"But I knew you personally when I got that. This is different" I tried to explain and he laughed harder
"I like her! Keep her around! She fangirls over me it's awesome" Demi grinned. We sat there talking for about three hours.

"Oh crap I have to go. Nick I'll check in tomorrow! Good luck Marissa!" She hugged me lightly again and left
"Come on beautiful let's get you into bed"
"I can do it" I giggled and stood up slowly
"Well ... Last time you were standing on your own you passed out on me.." He mumbled, I kissed his cheek and sat on the bed
"See. Im okay." I reassured him. Hillary, my favorite nurse, walked in and looked to me
"Medication. And then sleep. You have a big day tomorrow" she looked to Nick
"Oh no. Nope Hillary Im not leaving" he laughed
"Fine. Becca will be here in an hour. So don't argue with her" Hillary joked before watching me take my medication.
"Also Marissa, I'll be with Dr. Kerwin in the OR tomorrow. I will be holding your hand throughout the whole thing." She added before leaving the room.
"Close your eyes beautiful.. You need rest." Nick kissed my hand and walked to the chair he was going to sleep in
"Wait come back.."
"What's wrong?" He ran over to me. I placed my hands on his cheeks and smiled. Staring straight into his beautiful brown eyes. I pulled him close and lightly kissed his lips.
"I thought y-"
"Shh. I know what I said.. But every second you're changing my mind." I cut him off. He placed his lips to mine lightly again before walking over to his chair
"Get some sleep Nesbitt" he smirked before getting comfortable

Nicks pov

Mrs. Nes- Julia walked with Marissa to the operating room, I sat with Tiffany, Aby, and Joe. Mr. Ne- Aaron is on his way after finishing up at the office.
"You're gripping the seat" Joe whispered
"Im just.. Im nervous okay? Im normally in my own hospital room while Marissa's in surgery" I sighed
"Hey Im right there with ya.. This is different." Aby placed her hand on my shoulder
"I need something.. Anything.." Tiffany whispered, we all looked to her
"Wait .. Who's that?" Joe asked.. For the fifth time
"Her sister." I shook my head before walking to sit next to Tiffany
"What is it you need?" I asked her and she placed her hands on her face
"A sign.. From God.. Telling me my little sister is going to be okay.. This is why I don't live here. I can't see her go through this.. I get so nervous Id rather hear afterwards from my mom how everything went. God she's been sick since she was 10. I remember her going for blood transfusions, ER visits, shit I even thought she was dead once.. I hate hospitals because of how many times she's been in one." Tiffany explained, I looked down and she placed a hand on my back
"But I remember when they first moved here.. She was full of energy after seeing her nutritionist for her celiac.. She ran over to a curly haired guy in the hallway.. Her celebrity crush was in the hallway talking to her. She ran back to her room, to me, and wouldn't shut up about that five minute conversation.. And since that day you've been her saving grace." Tiffany was holding back tears, I looked to her and hugged her tight. I had just noticed that Julia was sitting to my right
"She's the reason I kept coming back. Notice how everytime she was here, and I ended up back? I didn't want her to be alone.." I confessed and Julia rubbed my back
"She'll never be alone when it comes to you. Come on guys lets get food. Aaron is in the cafeteria"
