A Little Bit Longer

Chapter 23

Marissa's pov

Aby called an ambulance because I was getting sicker by the second.
"Have you been eating?" She asked as they helped both of us into the ambulance.
"Yeah. Nick makes me" I answered truthfully.
"Maybe it's from flying ? That's a long flight!" She stated and I shrugged.
"I also have pain in my left side" I explained and we were off to the hospital with Nick following.

"Miss Nesbitt! It's not time for me to see you!" My doctor shouted
"Well my body thought otherwise !" I laughed and she nodded as I got wheeled to a small ER room to be admitted.
"Joe?" Nick widened his eyes and ran over to Joe.
"Aby can you go find out why Joe is here?" I whispered and she nodded following after Nick. About fifteen minutes later a nurse came in followed by Nick and Aby
"Well how lucky am I. Two Jonas brothers in one night. Marissa how you feeling I see you're here a lot." My nurse stated
"I am. Hey you look familiar.." I mumbled
"I just graduated from nursing school. I was probably a student nurse on you.. Although I think I would remember you. You've got the lot" she sighed
"No.. What school..?"
"Los Angeles nursing institute." She put the blood pressure cuff on me
"I started school there when I was 20 and then I ended up back here so I haven't been back."
"That's when I started ! I'm 22 now" she laughed
"Me too! What's your name?"
"Shannon!" She grinned
"You were in my class !!!" I shouted causing the both of us to laugh
"Marissa Nesbitt .. You sat.. Did you sit next to Kenny Tomas ?!"
"Yes!!!"
"And Marissa's made a friend" Joe walked over
"Are you discharged Mr. Let me break every bone in my arm?" Shannon laughed
"No I'm not. But this is my almost sister in law because I swear those two are gonna get married." Joe smiled towards Nick and I
"Well they're cute. And they've been in the tabloids lately. Weren't you just in New York? Sorry .. I sound stalkerish" Shannon laughed
"No worries. I'm oddly okay with hearing that." I laughed and Shannon started putting in an IV
"Alright. I'm gonna give you some pain medication. And your doctor will be in to see you. I hope to see you again soon! Outside of the hospital !" Shannon squeezed my hand and put some pain medication through the IV.
"I like her. We should keep her" I started feeling the medication

Nicks pov

"What is she a pet ?" I laughed
"Oh gosh here goes loopy Rissa again!" Aby giggled and Joe smiled
"I'm gonna ask her on a date. That's how we can keep her.." Joe smirked and ran back to his room
"See. He's a smart man. We keep him too" Marissa fumbled on her words.
"Go to sleep" I laughed and kissed her cheek.
