Naruko barely left her room, and barely even ate. For five days she has done nothing but sit in her bed, staring out her window, eyes focused yet unfocused. For five days Jiraiya and Kakashi would take turns watching over her. Tsunade would be called to bath and dress her.

"Itachi is her second loss Kakashi" Jiraiya told him. "She's not like you, she'll bottle it in"

Kakashi and him stood opposite each other. The silverette leaned against the opposite wall, shoulders heavy and mind blank. "Can you blame her for loving Itachi? He was always there for her when no one else was and saw her for who she was. Naruko even looked past his crimes" Jiraiya noticed Kakashi's clenched fist. "Made for each other, that's what I'd call them" Jiraiya went on, knowing he was hitting a sore spot and adding another insecurity to Kakashi. "But not meant for each other"

Kakashi looked up at him.

"Itachi is her first love but, you Kakashi, will be her last" He gave the man an encouraging nod, and an approving smile. "I'm going to take her with me for a day. Get her to come to peace with Itachi's passing. I'll bring her straight back when we're done. She's been cooped up in here for too long"

"You don't need to tell me like you're asking permission to take her" Kakashi said with a sigh, tucking his hands in his pockets. Two days, she was with Sasuke. And when she finnaly returned she cried into his arms and passed out. And for five days she locked herself in her room so he couldn't see her.

He really didn't want her to go but, if it will do her some good then he will wait for her.

Jiraiya snorted, "I'm not telling you, Kakashi, I'm letting your beast know." The Toad-Sennin turned on his heel and entered the room. Closing the door behind him as he went to wake up his precious student.

Kakashi ruffled his hair in frustration and moved towards the kitchen to get a glass of water. He knew it was selfish for him to feel this way. Naru had experienced him wooing another woman and act irrationally during his relationship with Katsumi.

He hurt her so much but she came back and supported him in the end. "You should be able to do the same, dumb ass." Kakashi scolded himself as he filled a glass of water.

"You said you'll be there for and look after her. Don't go back on your word." He pulled down his mask and chugged the water down. Letting droplets of water flow down his chin and onto his clothed chest.

With a satisfied gasp, "You've got this, dumb ass." Determination burned inside of him as he remembered when the blonde barged back into his life and guided him. He would do the same, he will bring back that beautiful smile on her lovely face, he'll be her light like how she was, is his light.

He'll bring back her laughter and the glow in her eyes. He swore it.

Kakashi heard movement and slipped up his mask as he turned around. He spotted Naru shuffle into the kitchen area, blanket still around her shoulders but she was up and that was a good sign. When Kakashi saw her eyes, his heart melted and held out his arms. He waited as she lunged into his chest and wrapped her tightly to his body

"Go with Jiraiya-sama, Naruko. I'll wait for you here and we can do whatever you want. Even if you just want to lie in bed all day." He heard her sniff as she nodded into his chest.

"Spend as much time as you need to wherever you're going, okay. I'll wait here for you." Kakashi let out a soft chuckle, "Just promise to come back otherwise I'm stuck in here."

Naruko sniffled, turning her head to the side so she could breathe and heard the strong heartbeat of Kakashi. "I promise. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." She whispered, voice still dry and hoarse.

"I promise" Kakashi leaned down and kissed her forehead, mask lips lingering for a few seconds, hugging her tightly before releasing her. "Go on." He forced himself to gently shuffle her in the direction of Jiraiya.

"We'll be back," Jiraiya nodded farewell to Kakashi as he placed a hand on Naruko's blanket-wrapped body and disappeared.

Kakashi held his smile in place till they disappeared. Dropping to the ground as the empty sounds and feeling in the cabin were immediate. "You're one lucky bastard, Itachi." He said bitterly.

"This is a friendly reminder that Itachi is DEAD" his beast reminded him with an annoyed growl. "I know" Kakashi sighed. "But she loved that man, and even Jiraiya approved of him"

"You are very annoying, but I understand you. You are not the only one frustrated, in time we will look back on this and see how much we've both grown as pups run around the yard laughing melodiously" and his beast filled his mind of images of children with silver and or blonde hair.

Kakashi blushed, the idea of having children of his own made him nervous yet, he couldn't help but feel hopeful and even excited. A yard filled with little ones running around as their older siblings chased them. He wasn't sure if he had what it took to be a father but he'd damn well do his best.

Kakashi left the cabin and went to train by the lake. That was where he heard Kurama speak in his mind.

"An image of your children are lovely, yes but..... Naruko in a wedding gown or kimono, walking towards you...it's an even more beautiful image is it not?"

Kakashi could see it. Naruko in a white gown, a long veil trialing behind her, smiling lovingly at him. He couldn't help but lay on his back and repeat that image over and over again.

"Yes" he whispered as he closed his eyes. "Yes it is"

A young man wearing expensive clothes, it's fabric made from the purest of silk, enters his carriage.

"Are you ready excited your highness?" One of his servants asked offering him refreshments. The prince nodded with a smile.

"I can hardly wait"
