/ˌskitsəˈfrēnēə,ˌskitsəˈfrenēə/

Noun PSYCHIATRY

a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.

(in general use) a mentality or approach characterized by inconsistent or contradictory elements.

-It’s usually characterized with distorted thinking, emotions, language, sense of self, behavior, and perception. Commonly, you see hallucinations (voices, noises, figures, people, etc., that aren’t really there (auditory are most common)) and delusions.

Some common side effects could be disorganized speech and everything listed above.

-Majority of people with schizophrenia have problems sleeping.

-Hallucinations can be triggered by certain things that happen, whatever the events may be.

-Bad grades, social skills, irrational responses, can’t concentrate, strange body positions, nonsensical writing or speaking, etc., days stretch on but others don’t, mania, psychosis, heightened senses,

-Music therapy is cool. Always. Can lessen stress and a lot of other things that can affect schizophrenia.

-Hallucinations can interact, commenting on behavior, ordering to do something,  warning of danger, and even by talking to other voices or people about the person. -Hallucinations can be sudden and scary. Can also be playful, and happy hallucinations tho.

-All this just from browsing and looking things up of google. I didn’t check any websites, but also stayed away from certain up front info that came from a source I didn’t really trust. Please inform me if any of this is wrong!

-Kinda sorta edited, I tried but my brain doesn't know how to focus on one thing at a time so I can't guarantee the spelling us 100% perfect, but I tried, so points for effort I guess

Peter walked home from school, his hands in his pockets, his eyes glancing around nervously. He had even taken his headphones out, because they did nothing to drown the voices. Plus, what if the voices were right when they said that a monster was following him? Even though he doubted that the big, snarling, green monster with yellow eyes and rotting flesh so bad you could see its bones and its teeth dripping with saliva that he would see too often for comfort would follow him through Queens, he still was wary. Just in case.

He caught himself peering around alley corners before he crossed them, and shook his head, letting out a breathy laugh. He kept walking to his apartment, sighing with relief when he went up the steps and the door was locked. He dug out his key and opened the door, stepping inside. He slid his shoes off, left then right, because Peter didn’t need another world disaster, before standing and stepping in the dining room. He opened the fridge, but closed it again when he saw the fruit had maggots crawling in them, and he wanted to leave the pre-made sandwich for May. He didn’t even check in the fridge drawers. That’s where the heads usually were. As hungry as Peter was, he didn’t want to open the door on the off chance the little shrunken heads weren’t there only to get his ear talked off about how cold they were, so he just sighed and went to his room, resolving to get a snack later.
