15. A New Friend

Fifth Year:

"Do you guys get the smell too?" Teddy asked as he wrinkled his nose.

After our cooking competition, we cleaned the kitchen with magic as the cakes were getting ready.

The cakes.

"Shit" I quickly got up from my seat and ran downstairs to the kitchen.

The room was filled with grey smoke and it was hard to see. "Open the windows."

We all opened all the windows in the kitchen and shook towles in the air to take the smoke outside.

"Whose cake is burning?" Fred asked as he coughed.

Roxanne closed her mouth with her arm. "I don't think that really matters right now."

After five minutes of trying to get rid of the smoke, we were able to see each other again.

"Hah." James yelled behind the counter. "It's not ours! Our cake is still alive haha!"

Teddy ran to the oven and stared inside. "Oh crap. All that work..." he turned to Fred with an angry face. "I told you that was a lot!"

"I didn't know!" Fred defenced himself as I went next to James to see our cake.

It looked fine. There were some little burns around the corners, but it's still way much better than Teddy and Fred's.

Suddenly I realized we didn't decide what the winner group would get.

"Hey, we didn't talk about the prize did we?" I asked Roxanne.

"Oh, we forgot about that part." She thought for a second before talking. "I guess you guys can choose your own prize."

James was probably listening to our conversation because he started jumping around happily.

"I want to see my grandpa again."

Teddy's head shot up. "What?! That's not fair! I want to see my dad too!"

I want to go, too!

"Sorry mate. Winners first. But I promise I'll give you the turner as soon as we're back, and you can visit him whenever you want."

Teddy murmured a "fine."

"James, maybe we should think about this first. Remember the last time we did time travel?"

"Oh, come on Lily. Nothing will happen, I promise." He gave me an ugly poppy eyes, that were not efffective at all.

"Fine. Just because I don't want you to do that weird face ever again."

James took out the time turner out of his pocket and all of our eyes widened.

"James!" Roxanne whisper yelled. "You can't just carry that around with you!"

"Meh," he put on the necklace and told me to stand next to him.

"Ugh, man, I hate this." I groaned and put on the necklace. "It makes me feel super sick."

"Well Lils, you can hold on to me." James smirked and I smacked his head. "Okay, sorry."

(A/N: I just realized this was an actual scene in Harry Potter. Well, kinda different, but same. Oops, forgot 😅)

He started spinning the turner as I waved my hands to the others saying good bye.

I really want Teddy to come with us, but it's also dangerous.

If he meets his dad, Remus will be confused why his own son didn't meet him before and he will realize the truth. And that won't be really nice.

Maybe I can help him. After we come back, I can go there with him and make sure that things won't change. So he can still have a nice chat with his dad.
