I think it was after midnight when I got out of the lake.

The wind was making me shiver, since my clothes were still wet, and at some point I even started shaking. But I didn't dry myself, or put on my robe. Feeling cold at least made me feel... something.

I walked around in the middle of the night with my hair dripping wet on my already wet clothes.

I'm not sure if my face was still wet, or if I started crying, but I like to think it's because of the first one. I moved my neck to left and right a few times to check if it was still hurting, and it was.

While walking around in the darkness, holding my shoes in one hand and my wand on the other hand, I made sure to stay far away from the Forbidden Forest, and made my way back to the castle.

Is it past curfew? Yes.

Am I in trouble for not showing up for the afternoon classes? Probably.

Am I even in bigger trouble for not telling anyone where I went to? Yup.

Well, in my defence, I was planning to come back before the classes, but Elijah...

I felt a tear go down my cheek and I mentally punched myself for wasting tears. I wiped it with the back of my hand and waited for the moving stairs to feel like moving again.

I stood at the beggining of the stairs and looked straight forwards while waiting, and a sudden feeling made me look around.

Like I'm being watched.

I almost tripped from my own quick move by looking back and slowly started climbing up the stairs.

Stupid stairs! I thought they liked moving!Don't tell me they're sleeping!

I looked behind me again and backed away from... the air. Rolling my eyes at my own behaviour, I couldn't help to check my back one last time.

I bit the scar on my lip as the stairs finally decided to move.

I basically ran up the stairs and almost screamed when the feeling of being watched made me dizzy.

I whispered the password and quickly closed the door behind me with a sigh.

"Where have you been?!"

I felt a hand on my arm, I turned and quickly push it away.

"Get off!" I looked at the boy in front of me and let out the breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Are you okay? Your eyes are... teary."

I looked at James and nodded.

"Yeah," I swallowed and nodded. "I'm fine."

"Why do you look so bad?" He asked looking at my still very wet clothes.

I laughed. "I still look better than you, shitface."

"You skipped all the classes, didn't join dinner, and didn't tell us where you were. Do you even have any idea of what time it is?!" He whisper yelled.

"I visited Hagrid. Fang likes to play messy." I pushed my hair away from my shoulder and looked at him with raised eyebrows. "Oh yeah what time is it?"

"Four a.m!"

Wow.

"Okay." I nodded and tried to walk pass him but he stopped me by holding my wrist and looking at me.

"So?" He asked. I pulled my wrist back, and straightened my back.

We are standing right next to the door, the whole common room is empty and everyone is asleep upstairs.

My eyes weren't teary but I could still feel the weight on my throat, waiting to come out as a cry.

I'm not going to cry over a stupid boy.

He didn't even do anything serious!

I'm just being dramatic and emotional as always. Sometimes I really do manage to annoy myself...

James gave me a worried look. "Is everything okay? You don't seem fine-"

I literally tossed myself at him and didn't wait for him to finish.

Wrapping my arms around his torso, I didn't let myself cry and just felt his hands on my back.

"I said, I'm fine, idiot." I muttered into his sweater and enjoyed the familiar scent.

"Rubish! I am way smarter than you are!" He complained as I felt his head on my shoulder and his nose on my neck.

I hugged him even tighter, like I was trying to disappear inside him and vanish completely.

"You're wet." He stated. "And you don't smell right."

"You're warm and soft. Perfect match isn't it?" I answered, pulling away from the hug, even though I don't want to.

He looked at my wet shirt and started taking out his sweater and I did the same with my top.

As soon as he was out of the sweater, he gave it to me and looked away as I took out my second shirt and put on the warm sweater.

"All good." I took out my hair from under the sweater. He was wearing a shirt under him, which still kept him warm.

He came close to me and sniffed me like a puppy. "Well, this covers the weird cologne smell."

I swallowed harshly at his words and he turned around to walk towards his dorm.

"Good night, Elizabeth." If it was another time, I would be annoyed by the name he called me.

"Potter," I whispered.

He stoped and turned around. "Hm?"

I walked towards him with big steps. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down to kiss him.

He quickly kissed back and held my waist, pulling me closer.

"I love you." I whispered after pulling away from the kiss.

"I love you too. Are you sure you don't want to talk about whatever the hell is bothering you?"

Our foreheads were touching as I shook my head saying no, holding back the tears. He looked at me and didn't say anything else for a long time.

"Fred went back to the hospital wing after lunch."

I looked up at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, he turned himself into a rat and ate an old cheese bigger than my head."

I chuckled and rested my head on his shoulder as he continued.

"And Teddy is having a sleepover with Nico."

I don't know how to answer to that, so I nodded my head. "So... you're alone tonight? Good for you."

He shook his head and held my waist. "Who said I will be alone? You're going to keep me company."

I took a step back and gave him a confused look. "What?"

He gave me an odd look. "Did I stutter?"

"Well... no, but-"

"Well, come on then. Let's not stand here until the morning."
