Niall sick on stage

Niall woke up with a throbbing headache. He didn't like the feeling by the slightest. He rubbed his forehead, trying to ease the pain, so focused on finding some relief that he didn't even realise that it was barely 4am. He eventually fell into a restless sleep, only to be woken up by Louis loud chattering. He sat up and groaned. 

"Hey nialler!" Louis said being his usual loud self. "hey Lou" Niall said, trying to show some enthusiasm. Louis didn't seem to notice but Harry did. He brushed it off and made a mental note to check on Niall later. Niall sat picking at his toast not taking a single bite much unlike his usual hungry self. "Niall? You alright?" Niall nodded. "Yeah Liam, just a little headache nothing to worry about" Liam shrugged not too convinced by Niall's answer. Niall finished his toast in thrice the time he'd finish his entire breakfast and got dressed for the day. 

It was a free day, except their show so they spent it watching movies, they bright lights not doing good for Niall's headache. "Ni, you look awful, you seriously alright?" Harry asked him. Niall's headache was making him nauseous but he obviously didn't say it, shrugging it off as a small headache. 

15 minutes before stage time, Niall was sitting slumped against the wall in a dark bathroom having just taken painkillers. He was hoping it would help his migraine that he certainly wasn't enjoying. "NIALL!" came a thick Bradford accent from outside. Niall sighed and stood up. He turned on the light, hoping to get used to brightness before having to go on stage. It caused his headache to increase but it wasn't as bad as he had expected. He left the bathroom and joined the other's before they went on stage. 

Niall had totally forgotten about how loud the fans were. It took seconds for his brain to start yelling at him to go back and skip the show but no, Niall wasn't going to back off, not because of what he described as a "tiny, stupid headache". Harry was looking at him with empathy, watching the colour fade from Niall's face. Zayn saw the boy staring at Niall and looked over only to see the usually happy, cheery lad look like he'd seen a ghost. Niall was white, whiter than a sheet and his face looked clammy and sweaty. Liam and Louis didn't take long to notice either. "Niall?" Louis said in a questioning tone, "you alright?". Niall nodded and replied with a yes even though they all knew that was a lie. 

He had made it through three songs but his headache wasn't looking to go anywhere. He started singing his solo in Night Changes only to feel extremely faint the moment he opened his mouth. He sang the best he could before feeling his body slowly start to shut down. His legs felt shaky and little black dots clouded his vision. he could hear Harry start the chorus and the others sing along but he just couldn't get himself to join them. The boys seemed to notice the absence of their Irish bandmates voice and looked over still singing their lines. They all stopped singing at once. Harry and Liam went to help Niall off stage while Louis and Zayn kept everyone entertained. 

Niall was on the verge of passing out when Harry and Liam came to practically drag him off. He was already sitting on the stage with his arms wrapped around his trembling legs. He had rested his head on his arms and pulled his earpiece out. The two boys helped Niall up and took his off stage. "guys.." Niall said in a low tone before before gesturing to turn the lights off. Before either of them could register what Niall wanted, the Irish boy was on the floor, passed out. "HARRY CALL THE OTHER TWO!" Liam yelled and Harry nodded snapping out of his shock. He ran on stage and whispered something into Louis' ear who ran off after telling Zayn to finish the show. 

"Uhh, We'll be back in a bit, Niall's not feeling too good" was what Zayn said before emerging backstage. "He's been out cold for the past 3 minutes" one of them spoke. Louis grabbed his phone to call an ambulance while Liam got some water to splash on Niall's face, the boy was burning up. As soon as the water touched him burning skin, Niall woke up much to the relief of everyone. "lights" Niall mumbled and luckily they understood this time. Zayn turned off the lights as fast as he could. They gave Niall some water and helped him to the couch to wait for the doctors. 

Liam suggested that they should go out and resume the concert while he'd stay back and make sure Niall was alright. The other 3 reluctantly agreed and went back. "Li, we should go too" Niall said. Liam's response was an instant no. "Niall you literally passed out, no way am i letting you go out there" Liam tried to explain. "but Harry did the show when he had the flu..." Niall argued back even though he knew he wouldn't last even if Liam did let him perform. "Harry didn't have a headache and he certainly didn't pass out" Liam retorted and Niall let out a sigh. The doctors came in 5 minutes later and examined Niall. They concluded that Niall's headache which was more of a migraine was induced by his high temperature which made him lightheaded and caused him to pass out, it all sounded scary to the younger boy so the doctors ended by saying that he was fine and just had to rest. 

Niall slept in the back while Liam joined the others to finish the concert. They skipped a few songs and finished the show faster but the fans were understanding. Niall woke up feeling better but not all that great, the next day though, he felt good as new.
