Niall's POV
"Ahh" I moaned into my pillow hoping no on heard me especially Liam. He is very overprotective of Harry and me since we are younger and he happens to be my boyfriend. The other 2, even though are older, are definitely not as mature or sensible and Liam. They know it, just won't admit it. "What's wrong?" I heard someone ask. It was coming from my bed. "Li?" I asked even though the voice sounded an awful lot like Harry. "No, surprise surprise, it's Harry. Now don't avoid the question" He said. "Nothing much, just my ear hurts" I told him. "I don't know what to do about that Ni. Let's see how it feels when you wake up" He said and I responded with a nod. With that Harry fell asleep but I just kept tossing and turning till I felt exhaustion take over and my eyelids drop shut.
My ear hurt pretty bad the next morning too, kinda like it does when a plane is landing minus the difficulty in hearing due to atmospheric pressure part. I only know about it being because of pressure because Liam had gone on a very boring rant the first time we were flying together, mainly for Zayn since he hadn't been on a plane before. Everyone had fallen asleep other than Liam and me because I was busy eating something leaving me to listen to his rather annoying scientific rant. Don't get me wrong, I love nerds, my girlfriend in middle schol was a nerd too. "How's the ear Niall?" I heard Harry ask from behind the kitchen counter, probably making pancakes since Louis beat all of us in FIFA. We had a rule that whoever wins decides the meals for a week. It was my idea since I usually won against Zayn. Louis, Harry and Liam said that they were 'sick of Nandos' I would have to beat all 4 to get food my way. "Ni, does it hurt more or anything?" Harry said. "Little bit worse" I said. "What is this conversation about" Liam said. "Oh no, Daddy Direction is in the house, run for your lives' Louis practically Screamed and Zayn chuckled. "Very funny Louis, and on a serious note, WHAT IS THIS CONVERSATION ABOUT" Liam said sternly. "His ear hurt last night and he says it hurts worse now" Harry said briefing Liam up. "possibly an Ear infection." Liam stated and picked up his phone. "We're off to the doctor's Ni, I'm making an appointment" "Nooooooo" I screamed causing Louis and Zayn to come running in asking what was wrong. "Nothing, he doesn't want to go to the doctor, that's all" Harry said as Liam was ringing the clinic. "Why in the world does Niall need to go to the doctor" Zayn asked. "Why the fuck do people go to doctors Zayn, What's wrong anyways" Louis said. "Ear hurts" I said. "And Liam thinks it might be an ear infection" Harry added.
"Appointment scheduled at 3pm, that's in 4 hours, eat something and get some rest till then Baby. Harry will make some pancakes for you" Liam said hanging up on he person on the other end.
"What is it Doctor?" Liam asked anxiously. I had developed a fever in those 4 hours and at this point Liam had only taken me in to see how the infection was and for medicines to help with it. He managed to drag me in and since I was already there, there was no point in throwing a fit like I would have if we were still at home. "There is inflammation in his ear and you said his temperature was at 100.7 an hour before you brought him in" the doctor said directing his words to Liam. "Correct" Liam said. "We'll just check it now, because I have a feeling it a lot higher now" The doctor said grabbing a thermometer.
The pain in my ear was now making me nauseous. "Ugh, great, new symptoms are just great" I mumbled incoherently. "Huh? what was that?" the doctor asked. "I'm nauseous too" I said. Liam looked as if he was trying to recollect something. "Ear infection 100%" He mumbled. I could make out only because I can lip read. The doctor nodded and put the device under my arm. "101.2 meaning around a 102.2" he said. I sighed and heard Liam sigh too. "Mr. Horan here has an ear infection, I'm going to prescribe some ear drops some anti inflammatory tablets since it's not bad yet" The doctor said and I saw a smile creep onto Liam's face. We thanked the doctor and left to go to the pharmacy.
They gave me the first dose The very second we got home. It hurt my ear all the more so I didn't want it. "I'll give you cuddles Niall, just take it" Liam said. "Im not Harry, good try Li" "Don't make me force it in your ear Ni" "you can't" "Boys, Come help me out here." he said and I bit my lip. How was I alone going to go against 4 of them " Hold Niall down please" He said and they obeyed. It was rare that Liam told us boys to hold anyone down so they all took it as it came and held me down very tight. Liam forced the drops in. "You're hurting me Liam" I said pouting like a 5 year old. "Sorry, but I have to" He said, guilt filling his voice.
If I'm honest, all the pushing and Holding me down helped. The infection cleared in a few days without any puke incidents even though I was nauseous.
