Harry - Eating Disorder

"The curly one's so fat" Harry read, each word feeling like a punch in the gut. "I know right, he destroys the look of the band" was the one reply that stood out to him. "Harry should leave the band, his voice is trash and he's the ugliest. Look at Zayn!" he read. He felt awful about himself, feeling all the more insecure about himself. Harry was reading an especially long thread about how ridiculous he was when Louis walked in. "Harry, what's wrong?" Louis asked and Harry said nothing, just fell into Louis' arms crying and shaking. "You're ok Harry, I'm here, what's wrong love" "j-just h-ate" harry choked out. "ignore them, they're all just jealous that they aren't in your shoes" harry nodded even though he didn't feel that, that was the case. "promise you'll ignore them next time and you'll tell me if you feel bad about them ok?" Louis said, twirling his finger in harry's hair trying to calm the younger boy down. 

Even after a week, Harry felt upset about the comments about his physical appearance so he decided to do something about it. He felt very insecure about his weight, the feeling of discomfort dawning upon him the very second he would have people around him. Harry felt paranoid about everyones thoughts about him. Slowly he started eating lesser, from 3 healthy meals a day to barely 2 meals. Even though he barely ate anything, Harry still didn't feel comfortable with himself. He wanted his weight to reduce faster. Everyday, the amount of food he ate kept reducing, often skipping multiple meals a day. Harry's normally fitting clothes started looking extremely baggy on him. Every vein visible on his hands. Harry looked extremely skinny and frail, skin pale and clammy. Harry had to wear several layers of clothing to make himself look less skinny. A voice inside him kept telling him to stop, but he couldn't. Even after he looked like a bag of bones, Harry still couldn't make himself eat more than one small meal a day. The other boys kept trying to get him to eat, but they couldn't persuade harry into eating anything more than a banana. 

"Harry" Liam said in a concerned voice, as he approached harry's room. He knocked on the door. When harry didn't respond, he knocked a little louder. that's when he heard a slight whimper behind the door. He shot a concerned glance towards the others and gestured that something was wrong before opening the door. He looked around but there was no sign of Harry. He heard another whimper followed by a harsh gag and immediately knew where he was to find Harry. He opened the bathroom door slowly, trying not startle the boy. What he saw was worse than his worst of imaginations. Harry was sitting there, in front of the toilet on the cold bathroom floor forcefully puking out all of the food he had put in just a few minutes ago. "Liam, go away" harry said, sounding weak. Liam didn't listen, instead he sat down next to harry and comforted him. Liam rubbed his back and asked him what caused him to do this to himself. Harry explained the hate comments even though it wasnt enough for Liam to understand everything, it was enough for him to understand what exactly was going on. A few minutes later Louis came in followed by Niall and Zayn, but the latter two were shooed off within seconds of their arrival. 

The boys took him to a mental health professional to get him checked out. Harry was diagnosed with an eating disorder and the doctor told them to keep an eye on his eating habits. With the boys' and the fan's support, Harry started making slow progress towards recovering. In about a years time, Harry was finally back to his old healthy routine.
