Why was everyone against Sunny's relationship with Shota?

Why was it forbidden?

When Sunny questioned her grandmother, she understood the issue was not about social status. A more profound reason seemed involved.

The following morning it was with a lot of relief that Sunny found Madoka waiting for her. Yuta was there to Sunny's surprise; the boy finally opted for a subtle approach even if it meant bearing Mr. Ikémen, aka Matsumoto.

Shota welcomed her too as if nothing had happened, but his gaze and the tone of voice he employed in his greeting made Sunny think he had missed her greatly.

Everyone is wrong! Shota is a good guy; he is kind, gentle, and honest; Sunny stated to herself as they got on the bus.

"Is everything okay, Sunny?" Madoka asked.

"Hai."

Sunny's reply was enough for Madoka. She pushed up her fake glasses. Madoka decided not to question further. All she cared about was her friend's happiness. The phony tsunderé harbored no opinions about Matsumoto. Everyone had a past and things they would like to forget, even if they are a perfect breed of Matsumoto. Madoka noted Sunny appeared to be satisfied with whatever explanation the boy had come up with; the story was closed.

Yuta sat with his headphones on, mumbling as if he were calling upon a shikigami to render vengeance.

Matsumoto broke the silence.

"Eh, Sunny, I have a basketball match next Saturday, it's a home game, and I was wondering? No, forget it."

Shota remembered Sunny was the team captain's motto-kano [former girlfriend and it would surely be awkward for her to see Saitama Senpai. Not forgetting she was probably still assessing last night's events. Shota, you are so careless. How can you ask her that? The boy thought.

Sunny smiled, "I'll come."

Shota blinked in disbelief; the girl didn't debate.

"Honto, I mean, you'll come and watch me?"

"Hai, I will."

"Can I come too?" Madoka, the eavesdropper, asked.

"Mochicron," [of course] the beaming boy answered.

What are those baka onna grinning about? What is there to smile about? The guy goes like, hi, I'm a stalker, and I tried to kill someone. It's okay, hehe! You're handsome he-he-he, the stupid girls say. Yuta played in his mind with an all kawaii voice.

They commuted and walked to school. The activity had become one of Shota's favorite moments. Being close to Sunny made his heartbeat. Many thoughts flooded in Shota's head, and there was one that the boy could no longer suppress.

Shota lowered his head as his hand grazed Sunny's, the couple's fingers brushed against one another for a few seconds, which seemed like an eternity before linking at Shota's initiative.

The heir knew it; the hormones were taking over. Eagerness overwhelmed him, Sunny's hand-fitted Shota's perfectly. If the decision were his, he would never let it go.

Sunny did not say a word. The gesture meant too much, yet she built the courage to turn to look at him. You are so lucky to have your bangs, the girl who bared an all-red face thought. Still, Shota used the back of his free hand to cover the remaining half of his face to hide the apparent shyness.

Just behind them, Madoka smiled while Yuta, unable to contain himself any longer, speeded up, knocking into Shota's shoulder as he passed him to enter the school's gate. But the boy's action did not even register in Shota's mind, which now floated in the clouds of bliss.
