Amy fulfilled her promise and visited Kyle everyday, spending several hours with him. She had totally forgotten about her date with Bryan.

Bryan on the other hand was hurt when Amy didn't show up for their date on Saturday. He was worried at first and tried to reach her to find out if she was okay, but his call was forwarded to voicemail making him all the more anxious, so he called Henry instead to say hi and find out how he would be spending the weekend. He then asked about Amy, trying his best to sound casual. Henry explained to his best friend how Kyle got involved in an accident while he was on his way to pick Amy up for a lunch date and how Amy hasn't left his side since then.

Bryan felt jealous at that piece of information, but he controlled his emotions and tried to understand the situation. Anyone in Amy's place would do the same, he convinced himself, deciding not to harbour any negative thoughts. He said goodbye to his best friend and ended the call.

Two days has passed since that call and Bryan still hasn't heard a word from Amy. She should've at least called to tell him what happened or even sent him a text if she was too busy to call. But no, she hasn't done any of that. Bryan decided not to dwell so much on the issue and focus more on his work because he had a lot on his plate.

Bryan was working late in his office one day when his phone started to ring. He ignored the call at first, to concentrate on what he was doing, but it kept ringing, making it difficult to ignore. Without looking at the caller ID, he answered the call.

"Baby, please forgive me. I know you're upset with me for not coming over on Saturday, I'm so so sorry. The truth is, I totally forgot about our date because-"

"Amy, Amy. Calm down" Bryan interrupted her rambling.

"Henry told me what happened." He added.

"It should've been me. I was just so scared and confused, that I actually forgot to call you... Will you forgive me?" Amy said in a charming voice that he couldn't refuse.

"I was just worried when you didn't call" He confessed.

"I know I've been a bad girlfriend, but I promise it won't happen again"

"You don't have to promise anything, my love. I would've done the same if I were in your shoes"

"But I missed our dinner date and I didn't even remember until today" There was a hint of sadness in her voice.

"You're forgiven" He said to make her feel better.

"I still feel terrible" She mumbled.

"Can I come over? She continued as she wanted to make it up to him.

The offer sounded enticing, but Bryan had a lot of work to do.

"I'm sorry, Amy. I'm still at the office. I have so much to do" He explained. He could hear Amy sigh in disappointment.

"When will you be free?" Her soft voice enquired.

"One minute" he said and checked his schedule to know when he'll be less busy.

"I'll be going on a business trip this weekend and won't be back until a week"

"So, I won't get to say goodbye?"

"I'll come over to say goodbye"

"Okay. I'll miss you"

"Me too"

Amy let out another sigh and said,

"I better leave you to your work then.. I love you"

"I love you too. Sweet dreams" The line went dead after that.

Amy was in Kyle's bedroom with him. They were watching a movie together. She wasn't a fan of comedy movies, but Kyle was able to convince her to watch one with him. He was discharged from the hospital after three days and was currently at home recuperating.

This is the first time in a very long time Amy gets to see a casual Kyle. So, it was surprising when she found out that he was a football player back in highschool and college and that he had wanted to be a professional football player, but his dad didn't allow it as he was his eldest child, who would take over the family's business. He also told her how much he loves hamburger and fries and how he was a fan of comedy movies.

Amy found all these hard to believe because she couldn't remember the last time she saw him doing anything besides work. Spending these past few days with him has made her know him better and has also helped her to feel more at ease with him. That's how she ended up in his bedroom, watching a comedy movie with him.

Amy tried to grab some popcorn from the bowl between them, when Kyle's fingers accidentally brushed her hand as he was also trying to do the same thing. Amy swore she felt a tingly sensation from his touch. She quickly pulled back her hand and stared at Kyle. He was already staring back at her, so she tore her eyes away from his gaze, staring at her lap like it was the most interesting thing.

Kyle placed his index finger under her chin and slowly lifted her head, so she was looking at him. Amy wanted to look away when Kyle's intense gaze was too overwhelming for her but she couldn't. It was like she was glued to a spot. Kyle slowly leaned in and kissed Amy. His lips covered hers in a long warm kiss that left her short of breath.

When he pulled away from the kiss, Amy was too speechless to say anything. She kept searching his eyes, hoping to find any emotion, to know why he suddenly kissed her, but there was none, or it could be that she couldn't find any because she wasn't good at discovering people's emotions just from looking at their eyes. Either way, she hopes he breaks the awkward silence.

Just as Kyle opened his mouth to say something, his bedroom door suddenly opened causing the both of them to jerk their heads towards that direction.

"There you are!" Mandy exclaimed in excitement, as she just got back from visiting Jack.

She walked towards Kyle's bed and grabbed Amy by the arm, dragging her out of the bedroom.

"It's my turn, Kyle, so don't say a word... C'mon Amy. Stop acting like you just saw a ghost" Mandy said when they reached the door.

Amy glanced over her shoulder, to look at Kyle one last time before her best friend dragged her out of the room. She wasn't just shocked at the fact that Kyle kissed her, but at the fact that she actually kissed back.
