Chapter 40

-Emma POV-

We flew to the other side of the country, where we found Peter and Charlotte in a diner.
"Jasper" said Peter and he gave him a hug. "It's been a long time"
"It's good to see you, Peter" said Jasper.

"Who is this lovely girl?" asked Peter.
"This is Emma. My fiancée" said Jasper and I smiled.
"It's nice to meet you. I heard a lot about you" I said.

"A human?" asked Charlotte.
"A Banshee" I corrected and they were both surprised.
"Those are a myth" said Peter.

"Tell that to the headaches I had for years" I joked.
"I see" said Peter and he came closer to me. His eyes were bright red and he literally sniffled me. "Almost no scent. Interesting"

"We need your help" said Jasper.
"That will have to wait" said Charlotte. "You see, we were meeting someone today"
"Hello Jasper" said a feminine voice behind us.

Jasper's grip on my hand got a bit stronger and he turned around.
"Maria" he said and I was surprised to see her.
She was beautiful...

"It's been a long time" she said. "I see you... changed your lifestyle"
"I did" he said.
"I'm Maria, I'm sure you heard about me" she introduced herself to me.

"Emma Marshall" I said. "And yes, I heard about you"
"Banshee's sure are a rare thing" she said and stepped closer to me. "Congratulations"
"Thank you" I said.

"What do you want?" asked Jasper.
"Same thing I always want" she smiled. "You, power"
"I already told you. I'm not coming back" he said.

"And now I see why" she said. "Well, if you ever change your mind. Come and find me"
She turned around and left the diner.
"Jazz" I said. "You're breaking my hand"

"Sorry" he said and loosened his grip.
"I'm really sorry, old friend" said Peter. "If I had known you were coming..."
"It's fine" said Jasper and we sat down at the table.
"We actually came to ask you for your help" I said. "It's about my little niece..."

After we explained the whole story, we went back home together with Peter and Charlotte.
"Wow" I said when we stood in front of the house. "So many vampires"
"Cool, your eyes are glowing" said Peter.

"They'll stop soon. I just need to get used to this" I said and we walked inside.
"Aunt Emma!" shouted Renesmee and she jumped in my arms.
"How is my favourite little niece doing?" I asked and hugged her tightly.

"I'm your only niece, Auntie" she said and I laughed.
"You're still my favourite, little one" I said and ruffled her hair. "Uncle Jasper wants to introduce you to some of his friends, is that okay?"
She nodded and held my hand.

Carlisle and Esme came back with new vampires, the house was getting full with them...
And some of them had gifts...
Benjamin showed his gift to Renesmee, it was beautiful, how he could control the elements...

"Benjamin can influence the elements" said Edward.
"And here I get super self-control" said Bella.
I sensed vampires coming closer...

"Guys..." I said and they all looked at me. "2 vampires approaching..."
Jasper held my hand and we watched 2 vampires stop right in front of us.
"Darling, go to your aunt" said Bella and Renesmee held my other hand. "Who are they?"

"Senna and Zafrina" said Edward. "From the Amazon"
I looked at Renesmee who smiled, we walked closer to the vampires.
And Renesmee showed them who she was...

More and more vampires came to the house.
It was hard sometimes to control my powers, with so many unfamiliar vampires...
And I wasn't the only one, with so many vampires, more wolves shifted...

The last witness came, he was rather strange...
"18 vampires" I whispered and Jasper rubbed my shoulders.
"Everything will be fine, darling" he said.

"I wonder how Alice and Lewis are doing..." I said. "I'm still wondering why they left"
"I'm sure they had a good reason" he said.

Some of the vampires that came, had gifts.
Zafrina had power over the mind. She could make you see anything...
"If you weren't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real" said Edward when Zafrina used his power on him and Bella.

"I don't see anything" said Bella.
"Edward, you didn't tell me your wife is a shield" said Eleazar.
"What's a shield?" I asked.

"The ones I've met are so different" said Edward.
"It's a defensive talent" said Eleazar.
"It's why I couldn't read your mind, even before" said Edward.

"So that's why Aro couldn't" I said.
"You have a very powerful gift" said Eleazar to Bella.
Kate used her powers on Bella.

"Oh yeah, she's a shield, all right" she said. "Should've put her on her ass"
"Or your voltage has been exaggerated" said Garret.
"Maybe it only works on the weak" teased Kate.

Garret walked closer.
"Garret, I wouldn't" said Carlisle.
But Garret touched Kate's hand and he fell on his knees.
"You are an amazing woman" he said, making me snort.

But my laughing soon stopped and my eyes glowed.
"Emma? What is it?" asked Carlisle.
"Auntie Emma?" asked Renesmee.

"Strangers, coming closer" I whispered. "The wolves are trying to catch them"
"How many?" asked Jasper.
"2 of them" I said.

We ran to the wolves and the 2 strangers.
"Vladimir, Stefan" said Carlisle when we saw the strangers. "You're a long way from home"
"What are they doing here?" asked Kate.

"Am I the only one who has no idea, who the bloody hell they are?" I asked.
"We heard the Volturi were moving against you" said Vladimir. "But that you would not stand alone"
'Great, I'm being ignored... Again...'

"We didn't do what we were accused of" said Carlisle.
"We do not care what you did, Carlisle" said Vladimir.
"We have been waiting a millennium, for the Italian scum to be challenged" said Stefan.

"It's not our plan to fight the Volturi" said Carlisle.
"Shame" said Vladimir. "Aro witnesses will be so disappointed"
"They enjoy a good fight" said Stefan.

"Aro's witnesses?" asked Eleazar.
"Aww. Still hoping they'll listen?" asked Vladimir.
"Okay, can I rip his head off?" I asked.
