Madalyne's POV

Xavier: Get on the jet by midnight. Don't make me go there and drag you.

Me: Fuck you! I am not going anywhere!

Xavier: I asked you politely but you didn't listen so now don't make me come there.

Me: I have fucking work and classes.

The ringing of my phone startles me; almost making me drop the phone. I abruptly stand up from my bed and pick up the damn call.

"Madalyne, get on the damn jet, please!" Xavier's voice sounds so calm but is assertive. It feels so good to hear his voice. My inside clenches at his deep dangerously calm voice. It must be taking him everything to not come here this instant. Is it wrong that I feel aroused by his demands?

"Xavier, look I cannot ditch work or university just for some vacation," I try to reason with him. I cannot dump my professional life just because my fling decided to set an unexpected trip.

"Just for two days, please, love," Xavier mumbles, "I promise, you won't miss any lecture or anything and I'll make sure of that."

"Fine, but if I mis-,"

"I know, I know, I told you, you won't miss shit-," Xavier lets out a laugh.

"Don't interrupt me when I am talking," I hiss through the phone. Xavier starts laughing even harder.

"Or what?"

"I'll make sure I never ride the jet!" I scoff.

"Right, now stop being dramatic and go and pack up," Xavier chuckles. I sense déjà vu. My hands tremble and my forehead releases sweat droplets. My phone drops from my hand on the wooden floor with a crack noise.

"Madalyne? Are you there? Madalyne?" His loud voice coming through the phone muffles my ears as tears gather in my eyes. My breath hitches as I put my palm on my chest; feeling the thudding of my heart. I soon breakdown, clasping

"Madalyne! Can you hear me love? Shit!" Xavier calls for me but I cannot even utter a word in response. I hear the call disconnect. I sit on the floor panting for air and gripping the scalp of my hair. My mind spins, as I will pass out any second, before the door bursts open. I lay on the floor with blurry eyes and a tilted head. All I see is a few pairs of legs rushing towards me. Then everything goes black.

.................................

"Argh!" My eyes are burning and my head is aching. I don't know how long I have been unconscious but it feels eternal. I try to open my eyes but the burning makes it harder. Lifting my hand, I search for something. When did my bed get so comfortable?
