01 ; KITCHEN SHOWDOWNS AND GUCCI HOODIES

TAEHYUNG'S POV.

I woke up today anxious. I look at my alarm clock and it was 7:20 in the morning, and the hot burning sun laid upon me.

Ugh, summer. As I groan standing up, I open my phone and check the notifications I received.

"What? Jin sent me a text?" I ask myself, clicking the notification of the text.

Jin is my best friend, his name is Seokjin but I call him Jin as a nickname. He is older than me but he treats me equally like his own brother. He's also a great cook!

TAEHYUNG, DID YOU WATCH THE NEWS, the text said.

"What? News? What is he, 30? Who watches the news anyway," I joke to myself.

I put my phone down and start walking downstairs.

The fresh smell of toast filled the air, I get all excited and rush down the stairs.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Walk slowly, Taehyung," a voice greeted me from the kitchen.

I walk towards the kitchen and smile in joy. "Yay! I love your homemade buttered toast, Yoongi!"

The man greeted me and told me to sit down on the bar stool as he placed toast on the plate on the table.

That's Yoongi, he makes the best homemade food! He and Jin together are the best chefs I know.

"Anyways, how did you sleep, Tae?" Yoongi asked me as he sat beside me.

I smile, biting a piece of toast. "I slept well, Yoongi! What about you?"

"I slept well, too. By the way, did you watch the news?" Yoongi asks me, taking a sip of a glass of orange juice.

"Huh? What happened? Jin asked me the same thing," I said, concerned what was on the news.

"Well," there seems to be some kind of disease in China."

"China? What's so important about it? It's not even in our country!" I complain, thinking the disease is nothing to worry about.

Yoongi hyung nods in agreement. "I guess you're right," he says.

I nod, feeling pleased I was correct.

After some time, Yoongi finished his food and washed the dishes.

"By the way, Jin and Jimin are coming over," he said. "There are bugs everywhere Joon's house and Jin wants to get away from it."

Joon is a nickname for our friend Namjoon. He owns a big house at the other neighborhood and he lives with Jin and Hoseok, my other friend.

"And Jimin... well he was bored at home," Yoongi said, turning off the sink water and drying his hand with a towel.

Jimin is my other best friend, we're the same age and out of all my friends he is the only one that still lives with his family.

Namjoon, Jin and Hoseok are from Seoul and moved in Daegu since they wanted to experience something new.

Yoongi lives alone, that is until I came along.
