"Where's all the goddamn toothpaste?!" I yelled throwing the empty, deflated tube to the nearby trashcan — miserably missing. I groaned and squatted down to pick up the small item, my 7-month belly in the way — preventing me from reaching far enough. I grunted angrily and cursed under my breath.

It had been 7 long, excruciating months of throwing up, aching feet, fatigue energy, extreme mood swings, heart-wrenching appointments, and weird cravings. My pregnancy journey was not easy but I was lucky I didn't have to go through it alone.

I felt a small thud against my stomach and looked down to see minor movement. Our baby kicked at my stomach three times catching me off guard. Lorenzo and I didn't know the gender or how many babies we were having — I wanted it to be a surprise at birth but I was told by the doctor we should check so we could be prepared. So today we're going to get an ultrasound.

A wave of exhaustion hit me and I let myself fall against the wall resting my cold hand on my stomach, feeling another sharp kick to my stomach. My anger dissolved and turned into heartwarming happiness. Tears welled in my eyes, filling the rims. "Awww, don't kick so hard. M-Mommy' tired."

I sighed contently and let my eyes flutter close until I heard the door open and a familiar sigh. "Baby, your suppose to be getting ready. Why are you sitting on the floor?" Lorenzo's deep voice asked, his large warm hands accompanying me as he helped my fatass off the floor. He led my tired self into our room where he helped me pull on my clothes and shoes.

"I-I'm just tired...and I felt the baby kick." I smiled lazily as I walked slowly down the stairs gripping the handle for stability. "And we ran out of toothpaste."

He chuckled behind me, wrapping his hand around my waist and planting it on my stomach. "No we didn't, I restocked the drawers with a few tubes. And even got a fruity flavored one so you wouldn't throw up to the mint one."

I turned around when we reached the bottom of the stairs, tears welled in my eyes. He chuckled and cupped my cheeks lovingly, wiping the tears from my eyes with his large thumbs. "Baby, stop crying. It's okay. I knew how hard it's been for you, I'm just here to make it easier."

My heart fluttered at his words, he leaned forward and pressed his soft lips against my forehead — kissing me soothing as his hands like always rub my belly. "I love you so much, I'm so happy to have you and to have you carrying our baby."

"Hey! Lovebirds! Get down here!" Saude yelled out from behind me. Being extremely big and unable to move quickly, I carefully turned around with the help of Lorenzo to find Saude with a small baby in his hand and Esme by his side. The baby — Saude's new babygirl — Mika cooed with her fingers in her mouth as she studied the room.

Esme excitedly ran over to her to me just as I reached the bottom of the staircase. She ran her hands over my stomach heartily with a wide smile. "Please, Please, Pleaseeee be a girl. Or two girls. Or four — whatever you are please be a girl."

I chuckled nervously. My body was absolutely incapable of producing more than one baby at a time. I couldn't imagine having twins or quadruplets and let alone have them be girls. My stomach wasn't big big so I was sure I wasn't having multiple. "No, I don't think so. I-I'll be happy with whatever."

"Well, I hope it's a boy personally," Saude stepped up bouncing Mika in his arm gently. "So then Mika can have someone to watch after her."

"Okay, Okay. We have an appointment to get to so keep your predictions to yourself." Lorenzo said leading me to the door.

The ride to the doctor's office was short but in my head, it seemed extremely long. My head fiddled with the ends of Lorenzo's shirt as I got lost in my deep-seated thoughts. The months had prolongingly gone by slowly but maybe that was because I was moving slow and symptomatic every hour or so. If I wasn't throwing up I was sleeping, if I wasn't sleeping I was eating.
