I used to like it cause obviously I'm a fan myself but I don't anymore. I hate most fandoms (kpop or not) because fans are blind and will defend their idols even if they're indefensible and then idols giving them what they want DOES NOT help at all 🤨 I get they want to be nice or maintain their good image but being too close to fandoms can be a problem because there's tons and tons of obsessive fans. Fan service just creates a fake image of your idol, especially for international fans, like me, who will probably never get to meet them/him/her.
Should idols 'love' their fans?
Not really. I mean why would they? They should feel grateful, but isn't 'loving' too much? :/ You helped them become famous but there should be a limit. A fandom doesn't have to take the whole credit for a group's popularity, because idols train and work hard to be where they are.
I also wanted to add that an idol isn't responsible for a fan's or the fandom's behaviors at all. If the fandom is toxic, it doesn't necessarily mean the group is 'bad' and they learned that behavior from their favorite group. Toxic people are everywhere and fandoms are definitely not an exception.
