What Does It Mean When a Group Have a 'Sound'

I think it could mean different things to some people. For me, it means that I can expect how their future music will sound like. Not saying their comebacks are all gonna be the same or their songs all gonna sound the same but saying a group have a sound it's a fun way of saying that they're using the same pattern or staying in the same line when making new music like NCT 127.

Some groups that I think don't have a sound are BTS and TXT. BTS used to have one until they started exploring more and using very different concepts/styles in their songs and/or comebacks. I also mentioned TXT because I can't really relate their title tracks to one another (this doesn't have to do with storyline btw). Their debut was Crown but we also have songs like Can't You See Me and I Know I Love You. Talking about HYBE groups, I think Enhypen do certainly have a sound or are trying to build one in the future.

Having or not having a sound doesn't mean the group is better or worse than other groups. I personally prefer if they do have one but it's really nothing special and we shouldn't be comparing.

Other groups that have a 'sound' are Dreamcatcher, Blackpink, Twice, Day6, Stray Kids, Monsta X, etc.

Some groups that don't have a sound are SHINee, Everglow, Red Velvet, The Boyz (they're either cute as hell or hot as hell), GOT7, someone else said they do have a sound so like I said it can have different meanings to fans, etc.

Ateez do have a sound in their title tracks but I think they explore a lot in their b-sides while Itzy is the opposite, don't have a sound in their title tracks and do have one when it comes to side tracks. Either way, their discographies are both very good!!

Anyways, having a sound or not, I honestly like both depending on the style but also prefer if they have one 😂 but no group is better than the other :)
