Mind Reader (Neo X Male Reader)

(Y/N) POV

Neo and Pyrrha "got to know each other,". Pyrrha talked and Neo used gestures to communicate and paper. Every now and then, Neo would tap my shoulder and I would converse for them.

Neo was pretty chatty despite being mute. I pretty much had my eyes locked on her the whole time and she was talking in her head 24/7.

I noticed people around us starting to go to sleep, but Neo and Pyrrha kept "talking"

"So what school did you go to again?" Pyrrha asks Neo

Quick Auther note, for these conversations, I'll put the stuff Neo writes on paper in a normal font like this in quotations, and then bold the lettering for her and other people's thoughts but this time with quotations instead of it just popping up. So when (Y/N) and Neo talk to each other it will be quoted, but when (Y/N) just reads someone's mind, they will not be

"I went to signal," Neo writes as Pyrrha smiles and nods

"So you live pretty close to Beacon?" She says as I nod

"Yea, me and (Y/N) are living in a small apartment in Vale," she writes as Pyrrha looks at me

"Yea, me and Neo have known each other for a while," I say itching my head

"You two are adorable," Pyrrha says as I blush.

"Don't say that!" Neo shakily writes on a piece of paper as she fumbles it. Pyrrha laughs as we join in

"It's getting dark out, I'll be heading to bed," Pyrrha says as she lies down

"We better get to bed too," Neo tells me

"Yea, I packed us some sleeping bags," I say as she heads for my bag to grab the small sleeping bags.

"Which is mine and which is yours?" She asks

"Yours is the kid's size," I say as she looks at me in shock. After thinking for a while she puffs her cheek and starts pouting

"I'm not a kid," she says as I hear her whine her in head

"That's right, you not a kid....your only as small as one," I say as she puffs her cheek even more.

"Hmpf," she says unrolling the bag.

Her sleeping bag was a black one...She should be glad I didn't grab her a childish one, the one with bright colours and words that say "don't disturb, this kid is sleeping," with an arrow pointing to her head....she would probably kill me.

"Make sure your comfy," I tell her as I grab her pillows and she gracefully accepts them.

"Thank you," she says as I grab my own stuff

"Ozpin was saying something about initiation tomorrow, so get a good night's sleep," I tell her as she nods.

We go to sleep.

Next Morning.

I didn't have much time to actually wake before people started getting ready for the initiation.

"God, everyone's so noisy," I mutter opening my eyes to see Neo above me

"Morning," I say as she smiles. Her smile is the best thing to see first thing in the morning.

"Morning sleepyhead, you slept in, initiation is about to start," she says

I instantly sit up as I realize a few things....first I slept in, 2nd I'm not already at all...and 3rd I was on Neo's lap.

"Why was my head on your lap?" I ask she smiles

"You didn't look like you were having a good sleep, so I came over and set your head on my lap and stroked your hair. You seemed to calm down after," she says as I blush

"Oh I'm sorry," I say as she points at me

"Get dressed," she says as I look down to see I'm Still In My Pyjamas

I rush to get clothes on as an announcement goes off telling kids it's about to start and to get to the start point if your not their already

Neo was ready way before me, I rushed to get ready. I was about to leave when Neo reminded me

"Don't forget your sword," she says as I look at her confused

"How do you know about it?" I ask as she smirks

"I might not be a mind reader, but I do find out some of the things you hide," she says as I blush

"Oh, I see," I say as I snag my sword and follow her.

We were walking fast, we walked to some sort of a cliff. It was a fair way down but I tried not to look.

"Ok, looks like everyone is here," Ozpin says as he points for me and Neo to stand on some sort of separated metal platforms

He describes what we need to do. And also how we get paired with partners.

I look at Neo and she nods. I'm sure we want to be on the same team, so finding her first would be best.

Ozpin finished his speech and I saw a person at the opposite end of the line of student get launched in the air

"Neo...what was that?" I ask her as I get scared and she smirks

Eat dirt!

She covers her mouth as she realizes I'm reading her mind

"No mind reading!" She says as I look away

I looked at a girl with yellowish blonde hair with sun glasses. She looked like a gang leader for Pete sake

I'm going to stick this landing like a boss!

"Oh dear," I say as I look at the drop

How am I supposed to survive that?

I looked at a blonde kid beside me. He had been asking Ozpin questions about landing

I'm going to die...I'm going to die

"Hey, we are in the same boat," I tell him as he looks at me

"That's good to knoooooowwwww!" He screams as he gets launched.

I look at Neo as she looked back...her face was smug and confident.

"Neo...how can I survive this?" I ask

Payback time! Find out yourself!

I was launched in the air as I feel my stomach drop. I watched as the ground got further and further away.

Welp.....I'm about to die
